He gave an interview a year ago where he said the show runners basically told him he’d be taking over as Cap at some point.

In the comics Cap "died" and was replaced by Bucky. No reason not to expect it in the movies. :)

Spoilers about who is leaving, possibly.

Chris Evans Is Officially Leaving MCU After AVENGERS 4 http://bit.ly/2ILUmxc

Yep.

Surprised, but happy, that he has stuck around this long. He wants to do many other things and said years ago that he was going to get out at some point to pursue his other interests/projects.

probably gonna be Vision... they cannot display his full power anyway...and the fans will not revolt...but scarlet witch will.... maybe she dies too

they aint gonna kill Hulk... you cant kill Hulk,...hell, even the writers cant kill Hulk... but there is supposed to be an upcoming Black Cap?? Heard they were skipping Bucky.... so Cap will likely die in this one too.

Vision or Witch will be weak sauce, IMO.

Both might resonate for me. One can't live without the other and takes a risk nobody else wants to take.

Yeah... I’m just not that attached to either one after such limited screen time.

Yeah that’s why I said both. At least it would be a bit poetic. It really should be Cap at the least even though it pains me to say so. I could also go with Tony.

So...

Wow...

This is the darkest ending in a long time.

I feel like I am taking a 1 year piss break in the middle of a movie.

The entire theater waited for the end credit. I just ran and piased and came back.

No punches pulled. None

Exactly what I wanted to hear. The corny battles have been my pet peeve of the MCU.

So, I absolutely loved it. Really raised the stakes. An incredible movie from start to end, with the humor, the action, and the feels all in the right places. Speaking of said end, however, I had a major eye-rolling quibbled...

The ending just fell 100 percent flat. No drama there in the least, and it didn't slug me in the gut like it was supposed to. Why? It's all bull ish! we know for a fact that they aren't dead. There are more Spider Man movies in the pipe. More Black Panther movies. And so on. So I just glanced at my buddies and said, "Well, that was a weak sauce ending!" And it'll be even weaker if it's an "It's okay, it's just an alternate universe!" kind of solution.

It completely slugged me in the gut for the opposite reason. We know those movies are coming so watching them all die was the exact opposite of what I expected. None of that ending went the way that I thought it would.

Spidey dying in Iron Man's arms. Basically the entire Guardians gone. And clearly Wakanda isn't forever

They are probably all stuck in the soul stone but damn.

I'm with Stout. The ending didn't hit me as hard because you know that everyone who died due to the snap was going to come back. I do think that those that died before the snap will stay gone though. It kinda of clears the deck a bit for part 2 (yeah they said it wasn't part 1 and part 2 but that was quite clearly a lie) and puts the focus on the original Avengers for their final film together.

Loved it. I thought the empathy for Thanos was just awesome.

Didn't we all know this kind of end was coming since this is part 1? I didn't mind it too much since we know they all won't be goners. The time stone will likely be used in pt 2 and/or the soul stone. Maybe Cap gives his soul to bring Bucky back. Stark for Spidey and so on.

Holy &&$!?! I thought I had it pegged. NOPE! Still processing it all.

Holy crap! Carnage fest. Watching Spiderman’s fade away and his words were gut wrenching. After awhile I was just numb to the carnage. I was so wrong about who would live and who would die. Just when you thought there can’t be more......there was more. Also, I concur with an earlier comment. Somehow, they manage to get me to sympathize for Thanos for a split second.

Also, calling Captain Marvel at the end credits!? Give me the next movie now.

It was by far the best avenger movie!

So I wonder what Captain Marvel will have to do with it. When Nick Fury dropped the pager and it sent a message to her, wonder what she will do. Also, Dr. Strange did say this was the only way, and I'm sure he know exactly what was going to happen. They are not all dead, not even close.

The only ones that truly died are lokie, kimora, and vision.

What slugged me in the gut was Gamora.

Okay, I'm not going anywhere near there--it'll be well-nigh impossible to top Avengers--but I did love it.

So what was the significance of the Hulk situation? Surely he wasn't afraid of Thanos I mean,,, the Hulk isn't afraid of anything right? I mean Thanos did work him over pretty good but still.
