Eau Claire Memorial senior Cooper Jesperson had a remarkable senior season on the basketball court. He led the Old Abes to conference and regional championships.
Jesperson, a 6-foot-4 point guard, averaged 18.6 points per game for Memorial. He also averaged 5.2 assists and 4.6 rebounds while leading a veteran squad this winter.
For his achievements, Jesperson has been named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association all-state boys basketball team.
Jesperson was one of 12 players named to the Division 1 WBCA all-state squad.
"Cooper is extremely deserving of being recognized as an all-state player," Memorial coach Chad Brieske said. "We have seen the countless hours he has spent working on his craft over the past eight years to become one of the most skilled players in the state of Wisconsin.
"He leaves an indelible mark on the program because of the grit and determination to never be satisfied with good enough. His pursuit of perfection provides a road map for the future generations of Old Abes to follow if they also want to become the top players in Wisconsin."
Jesperson led the Old Abes to an outright Big Rivers Conference championship this season while earning Player of the Year accolades in the league.
He led Memorial to a 21-5 record and into the sectional semifinals in Division 1.
Jesperson is a two-sport standout who also excels as an elite pitcher in baseball for the Old Abes. He already holds numerous NCAA Division I scholarship offers in that sport.
Elk Mound senior Logan Jerome earned honorable mention all-state honors in Division 3. He led the Mounders to the state tournament for the first time in 11 years.
Jerome, a 6-foot-6 forward, averaged 16.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for a team that finished 24-5 overall.
Eau Claire Regis junior Blake Risler and Fall Creek sophomore Miles Schmidgall were named honorable mention all-state in Division 4.
Risler scored his 1,000th career point this season for the Ramblers.
