Puerto Rico Tip-Off finals:

#12 Memphis loses to what seems like a quality Xavier team, still can't hit FTs going 15-30.

In a game where Russ and I were probably rooting against teams more than for them, Mizzou took down an over-rated USC team in the consolation game.

I only saw bits and pieces of USC, so far their guards are really bad. Not getting Stepheson will hurt their depth too, looks like Kasey Cunningham had another pretty bad knee injury, gotta feel bad for that kid I think it's the 3rd year in a row he blew a knee out.

Right now USC has nobody that can handle a pressure defense, Hackett has turned it over way too much and Donte Smith is only slightly better, can't guard, and is shooting 32%.

Derozan looks like just about every other highly rated guard or swingman that came in this year, talented but not ready yet. I watched Tyreke in the finale jack up shot after shot, horrible mechanics. Derozan is very ineffective in the halfcourt, the game before he got benched for defense.

I had said if USC got Stepheson this year they would be the best team in the Pac 10, I no longer feel that way, even if they did have him, but without him I think UCLA, ASU, WSU all appear to be better.

I like Memphis' talent but they can't shoot and are lacking at PG. It doesn't look like they're going to get either Matt Simpkins or Angel Garcia cleared to play anytime soon either.
