Miami Dolphins 2nd round picks, 2007-2009

John Beck, QB, BYU
Chad Henne, QB, Michigan
Pat White, QB, West Virginia

Miami Dolphins starting quarterbacks: Zero.

Man, what a freaking disaster. I thought that Chad Henne was going to make The Leap this year (drafted him for my fantasy team), but he's been terrible. I have no idea what they're going to do next season.

They'll probably have a new coach, anyway, so even if they had a mediocre starter, the position would be a question mark going into next season. I predict they'll bring in a vet coach and focus on free agents for the offense. The defense is still really good.

No way they fire their coach. He has done a great job with that team that has no QB.

If he gets fired Whiz should. Phins are at least TRYING to get a QB to work. Signing a career 40% passer is NOT trying.

I thought Henne was going to be the man this year as well. I had the Dolphins making the playoffs due in large part to the play of Henne. I am confused as to what actually happened to him.

If I were the phins I would not give up on him just yet. I think he's got one more year to prove he can make it and maybe a crap year like this is what he needed to learn and grow from. However, if he goes nowhere next season I'd be choppin' heads.

Thats a writers opinion. No way the HC goes.

Worst Home Record in the NFL, pissed off fans, and mediocre production after giving HC a huge payroll this year = "most likely" fired.

curious how they feel about Dansby

Karlos has had a good year -- 95 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles -- but below his last two years in AZ.

Big dollars always seem to imply that you will get more than that

had henne as my 2nd qb too, what a disaster that was.

Yeah, but I think I got Ryan in the 12th round and he ended up a Top 10 fantasy QB. Unfortunately, I used a 2nd round pick on Beanie Wells, and that kept me out of the playoffs.

Yeah. Allegedly Parcells left because Sparano wouldn't bench Henne soon enough. Sparano is probably on a very hot seat right now. Miami is 3rd in the NFL in total defense; hard to believe that Nolan won't be staying in town when they bring in their next HC. Anyone interested in Sparano as Asst. Head Coach/OL?

OT - Miami's defense went from 22nd in the NFL to 3rd. I bet they're pretty happy with the addition of Dansby.

No evidence that Anderson was Whisenhunt's choice. In fact multiple reports had Whisenhunt working behind closed doors to bring in Marc Bulger after his release.

That stinks of Bidwill/Graves.

Other than Drew Brees, you'd have to look very far back to find a successful 2nd round QB.

Bulger was released after the draft. Anderson was signed March 17. There were questions in the staff about whether Bulger even wanted to play football in 2010.

Apparently there are few lengths you won't go to in excusing Ken Whisenhunt's failure with the QB position this season. Ken Whisenhunt was IN LOVE with Max Hall. Do you think that Peter King came up with that story by himself?

Kevin Kolb? He's not my guy, but there are people here who four weeks ago would've happily given up the 3rd overall pick for Kevin Kolb.

Timeline is important here though. DA was without a doubt Wiz choice. Bulger didn't become a FA until way after the DA signing. If the same reports on Wiz wanting Bulger are true then Bulger wasn't even sure if he still wanted to play football Bulger may not have even been taking phone calls until after the draft when we traded up for Skelton. Jurecki who is the first one(then copied) who reported the Wiz wanting of Bulger and then denied Bulger, then you also have to believe the second part of that report concerning Bulger wavering on wanting to even play anymore until after the draft. More proof that was the case is Bulger not even taking trips to teams until mid June.

LOL So tell me what's so hard to understand that the front office brought him Derrick Anderson, Whisenhunt was convinced that Leinart wasn't the guy and the front office wanted to give him a chance. Marc Bulger was the guy Whis REALLY wanted, but he was vetoed by the front office.

But apparently you fail to read the parts where I said the real failure was cutting Leinart who I believe IS/WAS at least marginally better than Anderson. I just don't think that Whisenhunt wanted to be stuck with DeWreck Anderson as his starter. I think, just like for the past 100 years (other than the 48 championship year), the Cardinals front office decided to not upgrade a position to save money.

Do I need to draw a diagram, or do you understand now? All conjecture that Whis orchestrated the signing of Anderson without the proven piss poor front office having their stamp all over it.

Oh forgot about the billion time pro bowler Kevin Kolb. Still doesn't refute the point that 1 good QB has come out of the second round in a long time.

Are we sure of that? Or is that just a guess (educated or not)?

Either way I don't blame Whisenhunt for all our personnel failures this year when 100 years of history show that the front office is generally to blame for this teams failures.

No way (Miami) fires their coach. (Sparano) has done a great job with that team that has no QB.

Any coach that goes 1-7 at home and loses home games in back-to-back weeks to the Bills and Lions is in danger of being fired.

Sorry, but that's not doing a "great job" by any definition.

Best thing Sparano did this year was lose 40 pounds. Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland built a losing team. Made terrible draft picks and FA signings.

They drafted Jake Long over Matt Ryan when they desperately needed a QB. Nothing wrong with Jake Long, but Ryan is a better QB than Long is a LT. They took Chad Henne instead, in the 2nd round. Last year they took Vontae Davis instead of Hakeem Nicks or Kenny Britt. Then after they figured out they had no WRs they overpaid for Brandon Marshall, who is nothing more than a big possession receiver and malcontent.

Parcells, Ireland and Sparano came from the Cowboys where they were mediocre at best. 'Parcells would finish his Dallas stint with a 34–32 record and no playoff wins." Huizenga was pranked by Parcells and handed over the ownership to Steven Ross. Part of the transaction was having to keep Parcells, so I hear. The honeymoon is over. Sun Life stadium is a ghost town for both the Dolphins and Hurricanes.

Ross has been pissed off at this team since mid season. Not just the last few games where Sparano guided team lost their last 3 home games to Cleveland, Buffalo and Detroit. That is not a reason to bring back Ireland and Sparano.
