Hey All,

Just wanted to thank you guys for the congrats and watching last night. We not only won the demo/hour, but apparently we won the entire night! Now, we just have to make it grow, like a rash!

So whether you like it or not (and I know it ain't for everyone) if you could keep turning on your TV at the time while you leave the room or go out, the support is appreciated... and working!

Thanks again folks!

Cheese, I would only watch it if you have someone with some medical knowledge on your writing staff.

If you have worked in an ER, shows like ER are so absurd it makes them unwatchable.

chris, you gotta suspend your knowledge and watch for the drama/relationships. for years i had trouble watching anything legally related, then it finally dawned on me, this is entertainment it's not reality. then shows about lawyers became funny to me. i stopped watching it with my knowledge base and started watching for entertainment purposes.

You mean I shouldn't yell, "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH." when I go to court for my speeding ticket ?

I did work in an ER, for 5 years, but managed to enjoy the TV show too. Just got to remember that it is TV and meant to entertain. It is not all real, no one is gonna pay to to watch what goes on during the wee hours in a real ER on a weekly primetime basis, seriously.

As for Miami Medical, it was OK I can't say that it vaulted to my top ten shows but it was interesting enough to watch a few more episodes.

ER Docs are an arrogant bunch; in most cases they have earned the right, TV Docs take it over the top which is sometimes too much to be considered entertaining, except of course for my darling House.

Yeah, my parents looked at me weirdly once when I laughed out loud at an episode of Law and Order. The lawyer was addressing the jury during closing remarks, and reminded them that they must proceed according to the law and, if they thought the guy did it, by law they had to find him guilty. I just laughed and laughed. I guess the writers never heard of jury nullification! It's a protection against oppressive government. If a jury thinks someone is guilty, but doesn't believe the punishment fits the crime, or thinks that the guy just shouldn't be punished for it, they have a right to ignore the law and find the defendent not guilty.

Eh, but who really knows that in the public? I found it funny, but it didn't ruin the show.

Let us know when it switches dates/times, if it does, so we can keep tuning in our TVs.
I hate that they are doing that with a lot of new shows. See a new show and tune in the following week to catch it again, and it's moved to a new time. :soapbox:

Don't get me started! Watch the all new episode! Then wait two weeks for another one! Then we'll play re-runs for three weeks! Uh, then we'll let you have two new ones, I guess. Then another month for another episode.

I've dumped so many shows because of this.

the best part is they have this little actress, who is actually a nurse in real life as well. and she takes the acting gig sooooo seriously. i mean, when i was on set she kept talking to me in serious hushed tones about what was happening and how this had to be this way and that had to be that way. i wanted to turn to her and say, "cripes, i hope you're this serious in the hospital" until she told me her nursing career was on hold while she was pushing her acting career. jeez.

Good luck cheese! I hope the show does great!
Too bad you didn't write for Southland that is the best drama on TV right now IMO. No show has hooked me like that since NYPD Blue. I will set Miami Medical to TiVO!

Here's my kernel of a fan fiction idea: what's the best show on TV (besides Miami Medical, of course) that's set in Miami? Dexter. You should write some lines that allude to those killings.

That one's free. ;) The ideas that you can really take to the bank will cost ya.

Lol, I started to include this thought in my previous post but I went apoplectic at the thought and just put this: :soapbox: instead.

"But I'm feeling much better now!" :D Trivia bonus - place that quote.

What? She didn't tell you about the screenplay she has in her purse? :)

Oh come on, CardLogic! Give me a difficult one! That's Buddy from Night Court, the same actor who played Gomez in the Adams Family.
 A feeble challenge to a student of the art.

That is one of my favorite re-occurring punchlines of all times.

Thank God the title isn't Miami Beach Medical.

Story Line - Medical team faces an emergency when it's determined that Esther took the wrong cholesterol medication. They're also brought in to validate a new record for the pole vault set by her husband Moe who's been falsely accused of illegally abusing the use of Viagra (in order to capitalize on its well-known side-effect).

(Note - I jest because I am old).
