IRight now the guy that's got my attention is on a new commercial where he spots a woman on a train and changes his ticket. Think it's a phone company? Anyway, that guy is going to be HOT. Because he is hot. And you heard it here first. Cheese, find out who that guy is and talk to your people!! Every female viewer in America will watch that guy.

Ugh, let's not start casting someone because chicks think they're hot; make sure they have some acting ability first, eh? Let's NOT have any more Keanu Reeves, eh? ;)

Is Andre Braugher ever coming back. I loved him in Glory and was disappointed that he left the show in a blink of an eye.

nope. he was as stunt as stunt casting gets. thematically we wanted our doctors to be dealing with a huge emotional trauma to go along with the physical trauma that was about to enter our doors.

I finally watched the pilot. My wife liked it, my jury is still out.

Out of respect to you cheese, I'm going keep watching to see how the characters develop.

You had better knock my socks off with episode 5!

I once had an termite inspector say to me, "You think you've got damage? I was just over at Mike Farrell's house and Shelly's foot went right through their floor."

I have no idea if that was true. People tell you weird things in L.A. But everybody else looks at Mike Farrell and thinks great actor, activist, nice guy. I think bugs.

thanks Dems! While I wasn't a WGA member, my boss was so, I was on the picket lines, but I wasn't exactly on strike per se... more like a casualty of war. Since my boss couldn't "work", I had no work.

And it's been a long and winding road to get here. I'd been banging my head against the Hollywood wall for about 9 years, coming close on a couple things, being flirted with by agents a couple times but just couldn't break through. Then, back in 2008, just after the strike ended, I ended up destroying my back necessitating two really awful surgeries that forced me to move back to Phoenix for 10 months into my parents home where all I did was lie in bed for 4 months and then had 4 days of PT for the next 6 months after that.

Luckily, just as I was somewhat starting to come around, my boss, who had held my position open for the ten months I was gone, called and said his pilot was picked up and asked if I was well enough to come back... and I probably wasn't, but I came back anyway, worked on the pilot for him, then was his assistant throughout the first season of the show and ended up pitching the story for the season finale which he loved.

So we both wrote the story for the finale, I ran the writer's room as we gang-banged the script, he wrote the final polish and off we went to pre-production, where he sent me in to do casting and sit in on all the production meetings and then had me on set as his eyes/ears, where I got to work with the director (who was amazing... guy named Matt Earle Beasley, who directed the Mr. Eko episode of Lost back in the day) who treated me not like the complete novice I was, but with the respect of an established writer.

It was a truly amazing experience... all made even better when CBS went through the roof for the episode and moved it up in the air order (and with the show mostly procedural, it doesn't seem out of place).

I'm currently writing a spec for next season which my boss hopes to use as ammo to get my on full time as the Staff Writer... but first we gotta get numbers! So tell all your friends!

Hey Cheese....Liking it so far.... Good job...

Just realized this was the episode I saw at a test screening while in Vegas a month ago. It was good. I'm not huge into these types of shows but it certainly held my interest. Really enjoyed the speech the doctor gave. Good job.

BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well folks, if you're EVER gonna watch this show, tonight's the night... and if you've already watched this show and jumped off the bandwagon... and judged from our ratings, you have... well, get back on because tonight, Cheesebeef's partially responsible for whatever comes down the rabbit hole. That's right, it's the episode that I co-wrote the Story for.

Hope you all enjoy! And if you don't, feel free to let me know here... I enjoy the ribbing, otherwise I wouldn't be framing my first review from the NY Times who called something in my episode "preposterous!" Need to get that sucker framed.

Cheese, I will be watching the show...after the Pens game! I'm going to turn my other TV on, sound down, in a few hours just so I won't forget to have it tuned in. Still, for the live spot, the Pens win :D

I really, really hope this is a great episode, Cheese. I'm rooting for you. And hey, you threw in a great M*A*S*H actor, so it can't hurt, right?

Can't wait to watch it tonight! Will we see your name in the credits this time?

I found the NY Times review:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/02/arts/television/02miami.html

I must admit that agree with part of it. My biggest complaint with the show aligns with hers:

That wouldn’t matter, necessarily, if the main characters were more compelling, but these aren’t quite interesting enough to carry a full hour.

I have never truly felt connected with any of the main characters. If that makes sense. Proctor annoys me to all ends for some reason as does the little blond chick to a point. I do like the other 2 doctors, Delo? and Cuban chick. I think they are the most believable characters.

If it were up to me I'd have Proctor up on the roof walking to his usual spot. Then have him slip on a bananna peal that was accidently dropped by the young blond chick. He would then fall off the building and the trama team would try to save his life only to fail. It would be an easy way to get him off the show. Finally you could let the two other doctors fight for the top trama job as they blame each other for letting Proctor die.

;)

Well Cheese, it was the best show of the bunch so far. I'm so glad you've finally had your chance and gotten your name out there. Tell me you're the one who wrote the Wicked Witch line in response to the water gun :D

Along with the character complaint, I'll aid the 'strange and undetectable underlying condition' complaint. Okay, we get that it sometimes happens and can be dramatic and cool...but it doesn't always happen every day at a trauma ward. Ugh!!! This one isn't your fault as it is something completely tied to the show, but why does every single ep have to have this?

Just finished watching "Golden Hour".

Excellent work Scott!

I really enjoyed the episode, the story was well crafted and everything made sense. A lot of shows try the flashback style of storytelling, and they usually miss the mark.

But not here.

Please, please, please, tell me that the chicken surgery explanation was your idea!
