Because the only people calling for his job are the know-nothings on this board. I get the people who think he should be gone over the dui. I don’t necessarily agree or disagree on that part. Production-wise though, keeping him is a no-brainer.

Aside from the Bidwill, he’s the one constant for this franchise the past four seasons in which we’ve failed to have a winning record. We’re 23-39-2 since the 2016 season, and he’s only drafted one first-rounder who’s remotely worthy of a second contract (Humphries).

You may say that the Keim detractors are “know-nothings,” but it’s hard to dispute that there’s a lot of tangible evidence that he’s not that good at his job anymore.

Bidwills are the main reason why this franchise has been mediocre most of the time

I’ve always wondered how different things would be if Michael’s dad wasn’t adopted by the Bidwill family or if Violet Bidwill’s widower, Walter Wolfner, won his lawsuit against Bill and Stormy Bidwill.

If you up the games you have to do 18. There’s zero chance a team will be willing to have more away games than another team in their division.

You could play it on a neutral field. (international)

In defense of Keims record post Carson, they’ve had 2 rookie QBs and Sam Bradford at QB. No team is going to have an impressive record under those circumstances.

The single biggest downfall for the Cards was not working things out with Arians. They’d probably be in the playoff picture every year with him. He’s a top 5 coach in the league. Going from him to Wilks to Kk is the definition of going from the penthouse to the outhouse.

Most of our home games are like road games anyway. Bidwill is just ahead of the curve.

Since you seem interested in defending Keim, I'd love to know what over the last 4 years gives you any confidence in his decision making.

In the draft? Where are the hits? In FA, where is all of this production? Who is the core of this team?

Arians is a good coach, but he’s definitely not a top 5 coach in the league.

Belichick definitely.

I can see an argument for Payton, Carroll, Reid, Tomlin, Pederson

but I’m taking Arians over Reid, Pederson, and Tomlin. He’s won in Indy and Arizona not exactly franchises like Pitt, Philly and KC.

... Which is why the proposal to play 17 games includes every team playing one game at a neutral site.

The proposal would have each team getting two bye weeks. I could see players going for that, and it would make it easier for each team to get a bye before or after any international game.

Beli
Reid
Pederson
Shanahan
McVay
Payton
Harbaugh

Then there’s arguably Vrabel, Tomlin, Carroll(I’ve been low on him the past few years), Reich, & McDermott.

There’s a better case of Arians being left out of the top 10 than being in the top 5.

How many neutral site games can you play? You can only play so many in London without repeating teams and the only other spot is Mexico where it is a horror show. The amount of international games is fine where it is. I would prefer a 18 game 2 bye season. Week 1 last Sunday in August which is similar to college and it would end the second Sunday in Feb. There should only be 2 preseason games and they should be meant to finalize rosters with depth players.

Payton, Carroll, Reid, Pederson, and Tomlin have won Super Bowls as head coaches. Arians has not. You're free to choose whichever coach you want, but the aforementioned coaches have much better resumes.

reading too much into it. He is simply saying if the price is right we will keep drake. that is all.

This x1000. No side, player or owner, is going to say they will do whatever it takes to sign someone one way or another while they are both posturing for contract talks

Zimmer and Arians are a wash IMO. Zimmer has done a lot with mediocre talent.

I’ll take all those Super Bowl winners over Arians.

Well the article also mentions Ireland, Germany, and Brazil. Games have been played in Canada and Japan before as well. The article also mentions the possibility of playing in U.S. cities without NFL teams.

Obviously with each team playing one game at a neutral site, they'd need at least 16 neutral-site games, and with exactly 16 games there would be no need for any team to play more than one (though Jacksonville might be more than happy to play multiple games in the UK and Ireland).

I haven't heard anything to indicate that the NFL was unhappy with the most recent game in Mexico City. Apparently they're planning to return there this season so it couldn't have been that much of a "horror show".

I would prefer a 18 game 2 bye season. Week 1 last Sunday in August which is similar to college and it would end the second Sunday in Feb. There should only be 2 preseason games and they should be meant to finalize rosters with depth players.

The article said the season would continue to start after Labor Day, and finish at the end of February, thus helping with TV ratings. Sounds as though they won't be taking your preferences into account.
