Michigan State basketball forward Xavier Booker will reportedly put his name in the transfer portal, according to Jamie Shaw of On3.

Booker came to East Lansing with extremely high expectations as a five-star prospect that was the No. 11 player in the nation, according to 247 Sports. He was also a McDonald's All-American.

It's no surprise that Booker was highly touted. The 6-foot-11, 240 pound forward has a sweet stroke from the outside and moves extremely well for his size.

However, the results never met the talent level, and seeing as Booker wasn't part of the rotation for the NCAA tournament, it doesn't come as much of a surprise.

Booker averaged 4.7 points per game after averaging 3.7 as a freshman. His minutes went up slightly in his sophomore year, but after losing his spot in the starting rotation after just three games, Booker always seemed to be on the outside looking in.

Even still, the forward from Indianapolis made some key outside shots for a MSU team that often found itself needing them, but just consistently couldn't find the compete level that coach Tom Izzo demands of his players.

Booker will have two years of eligibility left.

This story will be updated.
