I thought it would be a good idea to start one thread to list prospects that will probably go in the mid rounds that we like.

One guy that I have noticed as being a solid player is William Gay. He is Louisville's top corner. He has very long arms and good instincts. He would be a great value in the 3rd round.

quasi homer pick:

Andrew Carnahan, RT, ASU

First day prospect until he blew his ACL early in the season. Solid pass protector and plays with a mean streak.

Injury probably means the second day -- maybe a guy you take in the 6 round with the knowledge that its may not be until 2008 that he is ready to play every down

another:

Andre Caldwell, WR Florida

around the third or fourth round

the good: legit 4.35 40 speed
the bad: spotty hands as a WR.

Catches fine as a KR

My homer pick is S Michael Johnson of the U of A. He is a ball hawk style FS. He is tall and has great range. Would be a good 3-4 round value. He also ran down Reggie Bush last year.

Another Louisville senior who was a monster last night is Amobi Okoye the 6-2 305lb DT. He was making plays all over the field. At 19 years old he's still growing too.

I like him as well

An Antoine Cason and Michael Johnson add to the defensive secondary would be a good day

Prescott Burgess is an athletic OLB from Michigan. I like him but i don't think i heard his name mentioned once in the Rose Bowl. My favorite mid round pick is Kyle Young. The way he's been sliding he may be a late round pick. I don't get how he's sliding. I'll bet after the workouts that he is back up to 2nd or 3rd round status.

Homer pick: Tony Hunt, Penn State RB. He's not spectacular, but he can pound the ball. He doesn't have all the moves of an elite back, but he has some skill. He's a poor man's Larry Johnson. Somewhere around 3rd-5th some team will snag him up.

He was one of the best RB's i saw as a junior. I thought he'd come out. He's as hard a guy there is to bring down in the college game.

2 Cal homer picks.

LB Desmond Bishop 6'2" 243, looks a bit smaller than that, very fast and productive.

CB Tim Mixon 5'10" 190. My understanding is Cal is probably going to ask for a redshirt on Mixon but he was a 5th year senior this year who blew out his knee (ACL) before the season started. He's an intriguing guy but it all depends on how his knee comes back(2nd time he's hurt that knee).

Mixon was one of the best punt returners in the country before he got hurt, and a pretty good CB although a bit undersized. DeSean Jackson replaced him returning punts and led the country at it, but if Mixon is healthy he'd be an intriguing guy in that regard. 5th-7th round kind of guy because of the knee though, actually hope he gets his redshirt and stays at Cal.

I like Deandre Jackson out of Iowa State. He was one of the top ranked corners coming into this year but had a season ending injury. It looks like he will be fully recovered but will probably drop due to the injury. He has good size at 6 foot even and about 200 lbs.

Had a knee injury early in the season and has probably fallen off a lot of draft charts. Likely a late round pick but he is talented and with some coaching could be a good back-up OT, if he bounces back fully he could challenge to be a starter before too long. A better pass blocker than run blocker.

He would be a great mid-round pick.

I think he stinks, he has gotten picked on in every Louisville game that I have watched, especially versus Pitt. A CB I like is Chevis Jackson from LSU, I don't know if he is coming out but he would be a good late round pick. Also I really like Dan Mozes from West Virginia.

Looked into this more, and I really like this as a 4th round pick...maybe third if he grades out really well but he might fall big.

I'd LOVE to have him on this team.

Okoye is shooting up the board and I have seen on other mock drafts they have him going in the 1st round.

CB Allan Ball from Illinois. 6'0" to 6-1, 180, runs a 4.5 and hits like a truck. Great NB prospect.

I'd love to add a Notre Dame player to this list but I can't. The talent level was pathetic.
