It is hilarious that anyone thinks that signing Glennon has even a 1% chance of affecting our pursuit of a qbotf. Glennon is only here in case Bradford gets hurt early so we don’t have to throw a youngin to the wolves.

Time to wrap this day up. Tomorrow will tell the tale. It is pretty much what I expected and I'm not going to complain unless they bring back Gabbert, Stanton or Barkley. We may have suckage but at least they will have new names on the jerseys.

I think a lot of people are revealing their level of comprehension right now lol

Something.

I would be perfectly happy with a QB room of Bradford, Glennon, and say, Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph rather than throwing a rookie QB to the wolves right out the gate. Give them the same time a guy like Mahomes got, don't ruin them like Kizer probably was.

We need an experienced qb to backup Bradford especially with his history of injuries. I like the move. We will still go out and get a qb in the draft. I do prefer Glennon over Gabbert and Stanton.

This feels like the Palmer/Stanton redux, except we know that we are going to draft a QBOF

They sure are. Anyone saying we're still going for a high-round QBOF has no idea what they're talking about. You don't go after a top rookie QB only to make them a scout/practice squad QB--which is exactly what 3rd-string QBs are.

I think it's hilarious that you think you have any comprehension of how the QB position from 1-3 on a team actually works. How many meaningful reps do you think a 3rd-stringer gets in the regular season? The simple answer is not even 1% of what is needed for a QBOF, to use your own misused statistic.

Totally agree with you. Remember this is the qb trio just for 2018. We are not signing these guys to long term contracts.

Right like a rookie QB was going to take us to the Super Bowl. Cardinals need to take a stud LB in the 1st round of this draft. Build a defense first.

maybe they want to carry three.some teams do.... and they want the rook to have to work his way up the depth chart...
if Bradford falls in week three...they probably start Glennon.... but if he falls in week ten,... then they probably start the rook

It doesn't matter if they carry 3, because the 3rd-string QB is a garbage scout/practice squad QB that doesn't get any meaningful practice snaps. In other words, NOT a high-round pick QBOF.

All of my dislike for Glennon aside, I don't think this prevents us from drafting a QBotF at all. I don't think we'll move up to the top 5 for a guy (maybe that's my own bias, but I agree that you don't move up to draft a guy and make him the #3), but this doesn't preclude us from taking someone like Lamar Jackson, or someone else like Rudolph or Lauletta in the 2nd.

I can see us taking Lamar Jackson and finding ways to give him meaningful reps on the practice field as a slash player.

A lot of this depends on how long we have both of these guys under contract.

Except we know that now we're NOT drafting a QBOF. Not a true one, anyway. I'm sure Keim will draft someone in the 4th or 5th round and tout him as such.

We shall see, but every team that wants a QB in round one pretty much can outbid us. So I'm happy we have at least two QBs with experience, if we don't strike gold in the draft.

I'm saying Glennon is a backup on a far field of preparation in case Bradford goes down as expected and the rook is not able to compensate early. I much rather have Bradford, Glennon and rookie than Bradford, top rookie and WTF rookie selected later lol

Bradford is a bum compared to Palmer and Warner both in QB skills and as a leader.

Having said that, Brees and Cousins doesn't want to come here so Keim got a QB with skills in Bradford. They like their chances on old QBs than new ones. Can you fault them after the last decade? I say it will work out well.

The defense is there. We need WRs, OL depth, and a QBoF (Bradford and Glennon aren't it). Keim needs to draft a QB still.

Wilks will make this defense better. To say the defense is there is drinking Kool-aid.
