He would give us instant speed at WR which we don't have.
He also can create separation with his quickness which Wilson can't and MHJ hasn't yet. Also has good deep speed. Saints probably would want too much for him, but worth a call since their cap is rough.

Brown, Adams, and Colon is not a great group and if you added a decent IOL, neither Brown or Hern is under contract next year so it could be a multiyear solution.
It's stunning that Jon Gaines can't find a way onto the field ahead of or alongside Trystan Colon.

Fourth round pick, so it was always a crap shoot. Getting the bust tag prepped.

It doesn't seem like he can hold up at OG, and there isn't a point to have him active on game day when Brown can give you OG/C depth.

The outlook is pretty bleak at this point for Gaines to have an impact for AZ after Fro got his extension. Only an injury replacement at this point.

Players you could add that would help the offense.

1 - An interior OL. It's going to be tough to keep strong on the OL with Hern out. Brown, Adams, and Colon is not a great group and if you added a decent IOL, neither Brown or Hern is under contract next year so it could be a multiyear solution.

2 - A speed WR. Easier said than done but this offense could use this. Tee Higgins might be an option next off-season.
Tee Higgins is gonna want and get big money in his next contract.

We have money. We lack talent.
the Cards are projected to have $100mm in "effective" cap space next offseason on a $272m salary cap-- third overall in the NFL.

Further, some portion of the $20mm they have currently will carry over and increase that amount.

no excuses

Williams being cooked aside, WR isn't this teams problem and putting money into it when it's needed elsewhere would be silly.

They shouldn't be trading for anyone that isn't Edge, iDL or CB.
