There should be a mercy rule for any time a Dbacks opponent scores 5 runs.

Crazy how bad this offense is.

This team stinks. I doubt they hold on to the lead in the NL West. It doesn't look like they will ever get out of this batting slump.

Was fun while it lasted though.

How ironic it is that, all of a sudden, the Suns have become the D-backs and the D-backs have become the Suns in terms of expectations.

It would have been nicer if it weren't an either-or. But, factor in the Mercury, and is should be a yes-yes-no in terms of basketball and baseball.

One hit in 5 innings. This is the norm now for the dbacks.

Shaggy, I've really stopped using the word "slump". That sounds awfully passive. As though it were happening to the D-backs.

Success, of course, is based on pro-active behavior. Making things happen. Choosing the roster. And the starting lineup, reserves and pitching staff.

Goldy's problems (not slump, but unresolved problems) have demoralized the team and fans. Outfielders who don't know how to draw the line in terms of risk in the field. Keeping weak hitters in the lineup, which tells the others that they don't have to hit above .230 to win their job. Ahmed being the worst example -- he cannot hit righty pitchers.

The only reason we are in 1st place (but not for long, as you say) is that we started with an exaggerated schedule with so many games vs. the Dodgers predominantly lefty starting pitchers, and we are better against lefty starters.

It is not a slump. It is a team that does not have the approach necessary to being a contender.

Ahmed with a triple . . . against a lefty pitcher. His first triple of the season. He should so be a platoon SS against lefties.

D-backs lose the game 8-2 and the series to the Brewers.

At least they did not set a new record for fewest hits in a 3-game series at Chase Field.

Close, but no cigar.
