The Denver Broncos' approach to the 2025 free agency window has been quality over quantity. With the signings of tight end Evan Engram, safety Talanoa Hufanga and linebacker Dre Greenlaw, the Broncos improved their defense and added a vital playmaker on offense. It's why ESPN's Mina Kimes has named Denver as one of five teams who have won free agency.

"(I) really love their signings on both sides of the ball," said Kimes. "Starting with offense, Sean Payton got his 'joker,' his pass-catching tight end he's been looking for, Evan Engram, who was cut by the (Jacksonville) Jaguars. [The] Broncos said, 'Come right in.' I like this because it gives them a bit of flexibility in the draft to maybe not reach at that position. Engram is really good with the ball in his hands in space. I think a perfect fit for Sean Payton's offense.

"And then defensively, this was a really, really good pass-rushing defense last year, really, really good secondary, but there was a need to shore up the spine of the defense. So you bring back D.J. Jones, who's a good run-stopping defensive tackle. Then you add Dre Greenlaw, a linebacker from the San Francisco 49ers to a three-year deal that was about in line with all the linebacker contracts, and then you add Talanoa Hufanga, who was a safety from the San Francisco 49ers, also to a three-year deal."

"I really liked how the Broncos addressed their needs in free agency," concluded Kimes.

April's draft is likely the next chance we'll see the Broncos add key pieces to their on-the-rise squad.

You can watch Kimes' full seven-minute video below. The Broncos portion begins at the 5:05 mark.
