Good times there, just some of what I saw

Practiced flowed really well and up tempo. Wiz mixes drills up well and comes back to them so the guys aren't doing one drill forever.

The one on one drills were very competitve and fun to watch.

Lott helps a lot in organizing and getting people involved.

Austin is all over Rolle and really working with him. So are the other position coaches. They are telling them what is expected of them.

Morey is a great pickup for special teams. He was running the punt team with authority.

Qb's looked solid. Boyd will be our 3rd QB

Levi did struggle some, probably from not being aggressive enough. We'll see when the pads come on.

Pope looks stronger and made good catches all day in traffic.

I was interviewed by NFL Network!!!!

I guess mostly because it has been same old, same old... Cards have been the champions of the off season and training camps for last few years with same results when the season starts. I know I have been kind of keeping my excitement in check until the team shows it can win.

I agree, although were still Football fans so it's still fun to keep up on the team.

Anyone else pick up the statement from Watson that he shed 30 -35 pounds?

Sounds positive.

Seeing Whiz actually coach, he's going to be a good one reminds me of a young Marty Schottenheimer, hopefully minus the playoff implosions.

Sort of a methodical cheerleader type, teaches a lot, stays involved with things.

Very organized from what I can tell, I'd be suprised if we didn't have a winning record this year.

Let's have those problems...if you get my drift

That wired piece showing Anquan just smashing the DB's and making plays was the best part of the entire show by far. GREAT piece!

Two things struck me from minicamp coverage: (1) Q blasting DB's and (2) the number of references made by Fitz to downfield blocking in his on-camera interview.

Common denominator: Downfield Blocking by Receivers. I think there's more emphasis on this by the new coaching staff (reminiscent of the way Hines Ward, Plax and Randall-El's blocked downfield).

The guys are talking about it. The highlight reels are emphasizing it.

I like it.

Yup.
Just knowing what to expect can help a great deal and for defensive tackle Gabe Watson, he feels he has better prepared himself physically.
“I’m almost 35 pounds lighter, so that makes a huge difference,” commented Watson on his weight now compared to his first mini-camp with the Cards last spring. “I also pretty much know the playbook so I can work on my quickness and technique now, and not have to worry as much about the plays.”

I think the best way to put it is that the previous sideline adminstration were not exactly the trophy winners in the Best Practices Derby. Guys who come from winning programs and top level training know the right way to do things.

Shipp looked a bit slimmer and a tad quicker....at least on tv.

The camera adds 10 pounds, so he must have really slimmed down. :)

As for the whole "not looking great" thing, I say PUH-LEEZE. New coach, new players, 1st minicamp, I would expect them to look off.

Green had 9 consecutive seasons at .500 or better in Minnesota.

McGinnis of course came from the all-time best at losing organization, Arizona.

The Colts during Tobin's time were mediocre.

Ryan was 31-17 his last 3 seasons in Philly and coached on a Super Bowl championship staff with the Jets.

So far it hasn't made any difference whether or not they came from a winning program.
