Tally Ho! Silver Hawks
The Low A Midwest League's leading team, the South Bend Silver Hawks are sending 11 players to the league's All-Star game, including 3 starters and the starting pitcher.
As expected, team ace AJ Shappi should start for the Eastern Division with Augie Murillo (3B), Carlos Gonzales (RF) and Emilio Bonifacio (2B) joining him in the starting lineup. Murillo is among the league leaders in most offensive categories while Gonzales leads the league in RBI. Bonifacio is 2nd in the league in steals with 23.
1B/LF Javier Brito, SS Alberto Gonzalez, CF Jereme Milons and DH/C Allen Mottram are reserves.
Team strikeout leader Ross Ohlendorf, middle reliever Josh Perrault and closer Matt Elliot will be part of the pitching staff.
They call AJ Shappi "Promote Me" Shappi because he's looking like low A ball is too easy.
