No way RN should even be a consideration for the Cards.If RN halfasses it in college what will he do when he gets knocked on his ass repeatedly by real NFL guys.How will he react to that?

I think he'll be more motivated in the NFL. Especially with a veteran team like the Cardinals. Again I don't feel motivation will be a problem for him starting out. Maybe down the line if his head isn't on straight. That's where the interview process is critical and they are doing their due diligence inviting him in.

That said there will be plenty of options where we pick. If they do take him there is a reason, and not because they aren't aware of motivation issues. They've hashed the questions out with him.

Why is he going to be motivated? If there was a time to be motivated & dedicate yourself to your craft it was last season with draft status on the line. Now he's going to have $$$ in his pocket & friends wanting a piece of it. Guys in the NFL are going to be bigger, stronger, nastier & ready to kick this kids tail.

Coaches can somewhat motivate, but becoming very good or great as a professional athlete requires self motivation, hard work, & dedication by that individual. I'm not buying this kid has that desire inside himself based on his work ethic & production.

Steve Keim stepped up and drafted the kind of penetrating, high twitch inside DT the Cardinals need. I love that BA & SK bonded with this kid and that they kept their interest in him close to the vest. This morning they confided in a couple of the media guys and told them how impressed they were with Nkemdi and how they actually appreciate his eccentric personality. That part of the equation means a lot. As someone who works with young people---when you take the time to embrace what is unique about the kid, that's the first step toward building trust and confidence. To see how elated Nkemdi is to be going to the Cardinals and how he felt this was his destiny...gave me goosebumps and smiles.

We can be thankful that the Seahawks traded down to #31 behind us---because Nkemdi is their kind of defender and they lost Brandon Mebane so they have a need inside. Thus, not only did the Cardinals draft a superb talent, they quite possibly gained on our most heated rival. Man, this feels sweet!

To be fair, 40, today my hunch was they would take DT Chris Jones as Plan A---who is also a very talented SEC All-Star. But I did still have Nkemdi as Plan C, behind DE Noah Spence. Turns out all three were available. Had I known BA&SK spent so much time with Nkemdi, I would have kept him as Plan A. His talent is rare. I am very happy that they tapped into the most talent DT draft in eons. I was very worried they wouldn't---if you read my rant yesterday!

I was worried when Burns went off the board that the Chiefs would take

Robert. Poe is going into the last year of his deal and they took a chance

on Peters last year. Then when the cameras went to Robert when the Packers

were on the clock I just knew they was getting ready to take our guy. Great
