MJ is ok. I don’t really take him too serious. I follow him for what little info that is reported on the Cards compared to other teams. I will say that he and I had a disagreement a few months back over a suspension for Kiko Alonzo and I was proven right. So when I went back to him on it. He sent me a DM instead of acknowledging he was wrong in public like he was proclaiming.

He. We’re all wrong from time to time but don’t act holier than thou.

MJ clearly is no longer in the loop with what's going on with the Cardinals. But neither are Somers and even Urban who works for them.

I tried calling into his show a few times and found him to be condescending as if fans don't know jack. It's no wonder they had such few fans calling in.

I tweeted him today about the mistake he made regarding JDF...I was nice about it...sent it as an fyi, said i listened to his interview with B&G...asked if hiring a QB guru as HC to develop the QBOF makes the most sense.

He tweets me back: "With Cleveland, does that count?" "25th in total offense, 30th in points."

He could have said thanks, but that's not his way.

Of course he doesn't bother to answer the question.

If you believe MB that (1) the second interview should be the deal-maker and you know that (2) no 2nd interviews have been held...

...that kind of implies that none of us (including MJ) know nuthin'.

MJ thinks everyone who has a counterpoint as a troll. And responds dismissively on Twitter and calls. Outside of it he is a good source of Cardinals news.

I like Somers. Acts, talks and treats most everyone very professionally.

Yeah MJ is nowhere near the broadcaster he was when he worked at the other station. He used to be coherent and have a sense of humor. I think the stress of the new job has been weighing heavy on him and he copes by taking Xanax before his shows. You can hear it in his voice. At times, he's fine, then 10 minutes later, he can barely get through a segment without someone fininshing his sentences, or talking over people without realizing it. You have to commend BTrain for how patient he's been with it. Whatever's going on, the station must know and be okay with it, because I thought he wouldn't last past the first month. It's sad because he used to be really sharp and fun to listen to. Hopefully he can figure out other ways to deal with his stress.

Jeeez.... Is there any 30 year old or younger up and coming Coaching prodigy I haven't heard about?

I would go with him over anyone thought to be in the running.
Start scanning Pop Warner and JuCo over-achievers IMO.

What is to like?

He's in a organization which knows how to win and has had experience coaching defense, special teams and some offensive exposure. Limited as DeFilippo as being mainly a young assistant and not a coordinator but Flores has a hands on overview of what comprises a NFL team... even having been a pro scout :)

Meh.

He has exposure to a lot of areas of an organization. He has been a part of the Patriots. And that is it. He has zero demonstrated expertise at any one thing. He has shown zero capability of designing game plans or calling either side of the game. He is a guy who you like because you like an article that talked about him and nothing more. Because, there is nothing on his resume that shows he is a good candidate.

He calls the defensive plays in the red zone, for one.

I did not read 'an' article about him which made me like him, I have read and heard numerous articles which is all we have as a fan unless you are privy to information I am not, if so, I then concur with you

Imagine that...accusing someone of liking something they read? How else are we to gather as much info as possible? Who here is a walking encyclopedia of all the assistant coaches in the NFL? Read on, JetG! It's quite OK to like what you read.

My point being, and I thought it was well stated, that Flores has nothing on his resume that highlights being excellent. It isn't that you can't like him or that it is wrong to like him, but are getting to the area of picking from guys who are a hope and a prayer. We are hiring our ops manager straight out of college. It isn't that it can't work, but there is nothing to project that it will. Our options are mostly crap shoots at this point in time.

You know since I have been back working in an office I don’t get to listen to the hacks anymore. Yes I am calling MJ and Dumbo hacks because they spout off at the mouth all the time and pretend they are never wrong.

Oh...I thought you were talking about me at first. Don't worry Clif, you can get all of your "spouting off at the mouth and pretending their never wrong" from me. :)
