With Kazmir & Maeda in the fold, I wonder if they are still pursuing Fernandez. Maybe they wait to see where they are at the deadline. The Dodgers have reached agreement on a deal with Japanese righty Kenta Maeda, Christopher Meola reports on Twitter. Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com has confirmed the signing via Twitter.

@mlbtraderumors @MLBONFOX Kenta Maedas deal is for 8yrs 24 Million, + 10-12 million a yr in incentives. 3 million AAV. Creative deal for LA.
That's it??!!!
.....
Brilliant move by LA. The max Maeda could make is $15M a year if he meets incentives which are probably All-Star, Cy Young, etc. If he meets those he would still be a steal at $15M a year.
totally agree. which makes me wonder how the hell he made it past every other team.
maeda's japan numbers blow darvish and tanaka's numbers out of the water
He doesn't throw as hard as Darvish. I read a lot of scouts compared him to Matsuzaka, the japanese pitcher the Red Sox went all in on in 2007.

Cespedes' camp has "bandied" about a $150 million deal for around six years, and there just might be too many outfielders left for him to get that contract.
The Mets and Tigers, who both had Cespedes in 2015, are waiting around to see if he can be signed for less than that.
