The Dodgers have reached agreement on a deal with Japanese righty Kenta Maeda, Christopher Meola reports on Twitter. Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com has confirmed the signing via Twitter.

Brilliant move by LA. The max Maeda could make is $15M a year if he meets incentives which are probably All-Star, Cy Young, etc. If he meets those he would still be a steal at $15M a year.

He doesn't throw as hard as Darvish. I read a lot of scouts compared him to Matsuzaka, the japanese pitcher the Red Sox went all in on in 2007.

and I do like what the Dodgers are doing. I think Kazmir should be decent in their ball park and Maeda is a decent bet to be a good #3-4 starter.
