Garrapolo looking sharp. He was my favorite coming out last year. His first NFL drive looked really good.

I think he'll succeed Brady without much dropoff from the current Brady model.
Bortles will succeed in this league. Carr would have, but he went to the Raiders.

The sad thing is BA & Co. Keep passing up good QBs early in the draft because they don't meet "the profile". Loved Jimmy G coming out of the draft

Uh-oh, does this become a thing?

@TheMuslimGuy: KC Chiefs CB Husain Abdullah just got a 15-yard penalty for 'going to his knees' for a Muslim prayer...Did Tim Tebow get one for Tebowing?

Well, I'm sure goddell and refs were "tebowing" as some point in their life

They don't penalize praying to celebrate, unless it is a Muslim prayer, apparently.

Good for the Chiefs.

Did they actually call an unsportsmanlike penalty for the guy kneeling down after his touchdown?? What a piece of crap this league is turning into with these penalties on every stupid play.

Yep... That was really a ridiculous penalty...It was cool for Teblow to do it though.

Watching the Chiefs coming out to a beating war drum and the Seminole chop I just want to know why the Redskins are a racist affront to Native Americans and the Chiefs apparently are not? If the Redskins moved to flyover country would nobody give a crap about their name?

The coaching staff of the Chiefs has done one hell of a job "coaching them up" to mask the deficiencies on the offensive line.

Nice to see Russ Grimm has a job. He's obviously in New England.

Why was it again that the Patriots traded Logan Mankins?

The quarterback always gets too much credit and too much blame. But the ten guys out there with Brady aren't playing very well. And it shouldn't be overlooked that the AFC west teams have a pretty good read on the Josh McDaniels playbook.

I could be wrong, but I haven't seen many kneeling celebrations this season. If it's religious, I mostly see guys making the cross on their chest and pointing to the sky.

However, if it is a targeted penalty, that's deplorable and reprehensible.

When he worked for the League, Pereira said going to the ground is a penalty. However, he said even he wouldn't penalize someone honoring The Lord. So it has been accepted that religious expressions were exempt from the "going to ground" rule...until tonight.

I don't think he was flagged for kneeling per se but for the slide. Yahoo is trying to make this about he being Muslim but I highly doubt that was the motivation for the flag. Even the player didn't think this was the issue and thinks it's for the slide.

This is ridiculous. Do you think an official would be so stupid to flag someone for this? No, the player slid on his knees for about 10 feet before going into the prayer kneel. If he would have scored, knelt for a second or 2, and got back up no one would have given a crap. But he slid first. Still stupid but it's the reason for the flag, not the prayer.

I'm not buying that for a second

slide wasn't that much and the flag came out after he was already down in an obvious prayer posture

I like it actually. Better than most of the other garbage I see players do.

That being said, I somehow can't picture myself pointing to the sky when I sink a 4' putt on my homeboys to win $20.

I stand corrected per the NFL although I still don't think it was because it was a Muslim prayer, just an official throwing a flag because the officials have been ridiculous with them this season.

Folks are missing the big picture. It would be in the league's best interest to penalize all religious expression on the field because if the lord(s) did actually decide to reward a player for prayer it would create an unfair advantage for that team. In fact, maybe that's what happened to the Patriots last night.

The Pats have done wrong by Brady for the last 3 years. He took a paycut so they could re-sign Welker and let him walk to a RIVAL contender. Their OL and receivers are straight garbage due to underwhelming trades and penny pinching.

The Broncos have done the exact opposite to Manning basically doing everything they can to improve the team. Brady should demand a trade after the season.

Yea, that is pretty sad. He has done alot for the team and there really isn't much he is getting back from them in terms of players.

Because it's about appearances and not about material issues. Nobody actually thinks the "Redskins" name harms anyone, but it mentions skin color, which is an absolute no no in the modern world.

You are ignoring the fact that it appears a majority of the offended are actually Native Americans, so perhaps you change your quote to "nobody who isn't referred to as a "Redskin" actually thinks the "Redskins" name harms anyone".

Isn't it strange that every Thursday night and Monday night games have been blowouts?

They've all been terrible and I channel surfed through the first half and gave up completely in the second with all of them. I also think it's been more bad play by one of the teams as opposed to great play by the other.

I mean, KC wasn't striking much fear into me last night, but NE looked totally inept and weak.

Yep, Belichick's letting Welker go, trading Mankins for the scrub TE (and a draft pick), and cutting Tommy Kelly (to save a few bucks off the cap?!) sure look like idiotic moves. Brady sure could use a little extra protection from a Pro Bowl guard, and the Pats run D looks terrible while the Cards have benefited greatly already from having Kelly.

It's as if Belichick isn't dealing with the reality that his window to win with Brady is closing quickly. Or Belichick has already decided that Brady's washed up and he's saving cap space, adding young targets, and building the team for a future with Garroppolo. Bizarre either way!
