On the kick-off after the 7 - 21 score someone lays a monster hit to break up the wall, but I can't see who it is?

I'm guessing Mulligan.

Anyone?

Francisco, Milligan and Shipp were absolute monsters on special teams. Marcel is the man, he does whatever is asked. It looks as if special teams has been substantially upgraded this year.

If its the one I'm thinking of its Schable .. he hit 2 guys at the same time and pushed one guy into another one of his own guys at the point of the wedge ...

Not the one...

(Francisco) singles out the one guy setting up the wall and absolutely levels him.

Isn't it nice to be here on the board and talking about positives from our STs ...??? last year they were a nightmare ..

Francisco is a tremendous hitter whether its special teams or he is playing safety ...

Its also nice to have Milligan and Schable on STs ...

Yea its nice. Problem is our special teams has already screwed the pooch once in one game.

It was Francisco.

Also, on the last three plays of the game Francisco had a tackle and he broke up the two passes in the end zone. He almost picked off the last pass. What I was particularly impressed with was on the next to last play how he knocked down the pass while not bumping the receiver, even though he was there before the ball.

I think he should be starting and will be starting eventually.

Think what would have happened last year. There would have been three return TDs.

Punt returned inside the 5

AND

A bobbled onside kick by Mr. Hands himself - Fitz

Plenty of room for improvement.

Agreed that there is room for improvement .. but they still looked better than last year ... and the other team wasn't getting to start on their 35-40 yard line on every kickoff ..

And best of all .. no Slo-Mo Swinton ...

Definately see a lot more energy and hitting on ST this year. However they allowed a huge return in the first game. I love the big hits, but their job is not to be flashy, it's to contain the ball.

I remember that play, and if I'm correct the fella he rocked was wearing a number in the 60's (a o-lineman). It was a big dude either way and he got destroyed. lol

The guy that Francisco lit up was wearing a 9(X) number on his jersey...that even made it more impressive

Plenty of room for improvement.

As I recall, the biggest blunder about the onside kick was not taking out the 49er running downfield. Nobody even touched him. I feel the front guys should even go for the ball. They should be looking to take one of the kicking team out of the play.
