But during his first semester at MU, Mike's plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, "Sulley" (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. The pair's out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University's elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.

Saw this with the grand kids on Sunday. While not the same level as the first one, it was still good fun. I would hardily recommend it as good family fare. 3.5 out of 5 stars. (4 out of 5 in its genre)

Was just OK. Slightly below normal Pixar standards. More disturbing was the trailer revelation of Pixar's 'Planes,' which looks like Pixar has given up on its values.

As cheesebeef will point out, Planes is not Pixar, officially. :D

Actually, Pixar and Disney sent out a press release nearly 3 years ago making it clear that Planes was in the works as a straight-to-DVD project being headed up by Disney Toon Studios and would not be a Pixar film.

So cheese is just clarifying what Disney made clear years ago. :D

Definitely one of the weakest of the Pixar movies IMO. Just not very memorable. I saw it six hours ago, and already nothing sticks out as really good. I guess the kids liked it, but they were not raving about it either.

It'll make enough money that I truly expect it will be followed by "Trains", "Boats" and "Shoes".

It was entertaining. Not one of Pixar's greats but I can name a several of these types of films that have stunk it up the past few years. Definitely not a top 10 but can every Pixar film be top 10???

I thought it was really good. The story was good. There was humor for the adults and the animation was top of the line. Everything you would expect from Pixar.
