At least he is honest, a likeable guy with a lot of shortcomings as a championship head coach.Monty basically killed himself saying Suns weren't ready and that's on him.

I wouldn’t put money on Ayton being #1 pick value ever in his career. I would, however, put money on him being an all-star elsewhere. Not every number one pick nets a number one pick value in return. Not every number one pick plays to that level. Some number one picks are called busts. Busts don't get number one pick value....
Hopefully the Suns are a destination for a new head coach.

It was a JJ move. Can't have anything resembling frontcourt depth on his watch.
So was James Jones trying to save Ishbia some money? Bazley couldn't get off the bench.
I don't like how Shams worded that. He deliberately named Ishbia and James Jones together as far as naming who is searching for a replacement for Monty. Jones needs to go and it doesn't sound like he will be this off-season.
NO. He is absolutely worse than Monty.Mike Budenholzer is my guess.
Same.I noticed that as well. Maybe Shams know something we don't?
Personally, I thought Jones should have been let go at the same time.
The opportunity costs of missing the true #1 of that draft are done. Let bygones be bygones and look forward to DA's trade value and how it can be used to improve our roster around the KD/Book core. With Ayton, whether he has a chance to live up to his #1 rating doesn't matter. We need to win right now, and not be concerned with 3-4 years from now what he can be if he 'gets it'.
Many guys like that, never 'get it'. The die seems fairly cast. He doesn't have to play for a contract for the next few years.
I'd rather look at it like this. Ayton's trade value is already on a downward trend, and in the future is likely to never be higher than it is now. (aside from expiring contract purposes heading into/trade deadline of last year)
It's a pretty big risk to not get rid of him. At this point, I'd take a trash-expiring 2024 contract for him.
I get that, but on the other hand they can't really state things any other way until Jones is officially kaput.I don't like how Shams worded that. He deliberately named Ishbia and James Jones together as far as naming who is searching for a replacement for Monty. Jones needs to go and it doesn't sound like he will be this off-season.
I don't know but it certainly hurt our ability to compete. I'm not saying Dario was a difference maker on his own but it certainly would have been nice to have Dario for the Denver series.
We did have three centers! Just Power Forwards seem not to be his forte. It was a JJ move. Can't have anything resembling frontcourt depth on his watch.
CP3 will be back unless we get a good trade. Ayton is soo gone
Exactly. Sunk cost fallacy can't limit us from doing what needs to be done to win a championship. Now that we have an owner willing to pony up, we have flexibility that we didn't have with $arver. Use what pieces we have and see what James Jones (or preferably a new GM) can do.The opportunity costs of missing the true #1 of that draft are done. Let bygones be bygones and look forward to DA's trade value and how it can be used to improve our roster around the KD/Book core.
Noticed that tooI don't like how Shams worded that. He deliberately named Ishbia and James Jones together as far as naming who is searching for a replacement for Monty. Jones needs to go and it doesn't sound like he will be this off-season.
You were convinced it was never going to happen but I thought it was a possibility. Only because 3 out of the last 4 championship winning coaches were fired. My guess is they want a new coach in here ASAP to give his input in future personnel changes. Not shocked at all based on the last 3 playoff performances.Kind of a shame seeing Monty get the boot before Ayton but what are you gonna do
I'm hearing that the same complaints we have for Monty is what Bucks fans have for Bud. Extremely slow to make adjustments.
