It took them 12 years after firing dantoni to find another good coach.

This is just as short sighted as the lakers firing of Vogel last year. Ham and Vogel both sucked when westbrook was on the team and then succeeded with a more balanced roster.

I think it will be tougher to fire James Jones if Mat Ishbia was the one pushing the Kevin Durant trade at the trade deadline.

I think there were player communication issues which never got resolved.

Dont worry about inexperience because Isiah Thomas has 5 full seasons of that on the bench as head coach.

It was apparent that Monty had hit his ceiling with us. This team should be thinking Larry O’Brien every year for the foreseeable future. Monty didn’t have the energy to challenge his players and his grudges got in the way of him doing a good job. He’s a great guy and should be commended for his hard work and dedication to the team, but his limitations are too much

My only thing with JJ, is there isn't a lot of GM candidates out there as easily as the quality of coaches.

His betting on Shamet ruined a lot flexibility in previous offseasons. We could have used Bruce Brown for example for below 7m/y.

2 coaches have won titles with multiple franchises, Phil Jackson and Pat Riley. I wouldn't bet on Ty Lue being #3 but he wouldn't be a bad move. I wish we hadn't let Willie Green get away.

Completely agree. Lue would be perfect. he's been without either Leonard and George for his post season tenure. I'd love to see how he coaches
with Book and KD. Let's get this retool started!

I get the passion but 98.7 was openly saying Monty was out unless he wins a championship for weeks. That sort of leak comes from the top.

I love the man that Monty is. He's the perfect coach for young guys looking to become men

However, James Jones could have given Monty a better roster, particularly this past season.

Yeah, from what we've heard today and yesterday it looks like we aren't trading Ayton right away. Whether it's because they believe he can fill his role without Monty here or that he doesn't have enough trade value to make it worth it remains to be seen.
