ESPN NFL analyst Dilfer likely done at the network

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/espn-nfl-analyst-dilfer-likely-done-at-the-network/ar-BBssPlH

NFL TV sources say Trent Dilfer, one of ESPN’s most engaging NFL analysts and member of the “Monday Countdown” crew, is likely headed out the door. Spies say money is the issue.

And according to published reports, Brad Nessler, one of ESPN’s top college football and basketball play-by-play voices, is headed to CBS to work NFL games.

Nothing like a good laugh on a Sunday afternoon.

That must have been a typo?

I think was supposed to be enraging.

ESPN is losing money hand over fist. They are getting rid of salaries that they deem too high.

Dilfer was engaging. He actually talked football, rather than shouting down other people and self-promoting/homerism. I don't like him but at least he tried.

I agree. Dilfer told it like it is. He always had a good sense about the Cardinals, which I appreciated. And Nessler is a pro's pro.

More and more people are cutting the cable in favor of internet services that are faster, cheaper, and have less ads. ESPN is one of the prime companies set to fall in the next few years with this paradigm shift.

That plays a part but really it's the absurd NBA contract that has them cutting corners everywhere. I think there's a very good chance it takes them down and if not, it will look nothing like the ESPN of the 2000's in just a few short years. Twenty years from now that move by ESPN will be taught in Business Schools everywhere as an example of one of the most short-sighted decisions ever.

I think ESPN can save itself still, Adding another 12 ESPN channels should do it for sure! :p

As was cutting hockey. And now NBC is reaping those rewards.
