Nothing says "confidence" like finding out that all of your phone conversations are immediately reported to the media. If Manning did indeed call the Broncos why would they be so stupid as to leak that information so fast? We haven't heard a peep out of the Cardinals, they've been playing this very close to the vest and professionally....Denver on the other hand? Not so much.

His decision has not been announced yet, and until it is the Cardinals need to maintain the "loose lips sink ships" mentality and watch Denver take themselves out of the running with stuff like this.

I just honestly don't know the "proper" way to do this: do you call the team(s) you're declining first so they don't hear on the news you picked someone else, or do you call the team you accept first to let them know before you call the rejects? I've no idea.

I was thinking about that too.

The best way would probably be to call the losers and just say, "I've accepted another offer" so that your decision doesn't become public knowledge before all interested parties have been notified first.

No idea how Manning will handle it.
