-- Culpepper Trade Rumor --
Sun Jan 22, 2006 --from FFMastermind.com

The Pioneer Press reports another circulated trade rumor: QB Daunte Culpepper and the Vikings' second-round draft pick to HC Dennis Green's Cardinals for Arizona's No. 10 overall pick and S Adrian Wilson. The Vikings could also package controversial CB Fred Smoot with Culpepper in a deal, allowing them to re-sign free agent CB Brian Williams.

Never in a bazillion years would we trade Wilson for a QB that may or may not come back at 100%.

Reminds me of those contrived Pioneer Press rumors last season where the Cardinals were going to send Anquan Boldin, plus their first round pick, for Randy Moss. Unbelievable.

Culpepper isn't going anywhere until he demonstrates he can actually run again.

If DG made a trade like that, we'd tar and feather him and ride him out of town on a rail.

"Pioneer Press reports"

That is all I will ever need to read to know exactly how full of crap the story will be.

Really has that paper ever been right about anything, I mean even close to breaking a story or rumor. They suck.

Weren't we supposedly offering Wilson to them last year also. No way Wilson is going anywhere when he's on the verge of becoming an elite defensive player. Don't get me wrong, i want Culpepper as much as anyone but that trade is pretty ridiculous. They wouldn't even get the 10th pick for Culpepper.

It was acually Berry, Wilson, Dockett, Boldin and our 1st for Moss.

This paper is the biggest joke ever.

I wouldn't doubt it. Just call us the Minnesota Cardinals.

Fred Smoot stinks. I would much rather just sign B. Williams than even trying any of this nonsense. Wilson is a top 3 safety in the NFL, this report is bulllcrap and whoever wrote it should be punched in the face.

Its a bogus story. The Pioneer Press is the St. Paul newspaper and never reported this.

They didn't "report" it, but they did throw it out as a suggestion. Then someone else decided to call it a "rumor":

I got all weepy when I saw this. I'd hope the team would look elsewhere for a turnover machine at QB (and no not just this year, there were plenty of mediocre years before his one great one last year).

My trade: We will take Daunte and his salary off your hands for nothing and pray he can still play ball at the same level once again.

Agreed.

The Pioneer Press must hire all the National Inquirer rejects. They seem to just sit around all day making up things.

I think 90% of this comes from people who claim to be close to DG and the fact he used to coach there and drafted Culpepper causes this stuff to pop up again and again.

I doubt they know anything we don't.

Wow.. This ranks up there with 99 percent of the "rumors" the New York Post suggests on the bogus charts.

Ever notice, rumors out of local wraps have their team absolutely ass pounding another team in the deal?

Wilson and the #10 overall for Culpepper and Minnesota's second rounder sucks on so many levels that even a blind jackass can see the craptastic nature to it.
