Because he is an all-around better player than Leinart in my opinion anyway. It is not like Leinart has shown much accuracy to be honest.

The Cards will most likely trade their 2nd best receiver in Boldin.

The Cards want to be more of a power football team, the running game already made big improvements this year and especially when Warner is gone they will lean even more into that direction which to me is why Vick wouldn't be a bad fit and in my opinion will return to his best form rather sooner than later and at that point he was one of the better QBs in the league at least.

Because Vick is horribly inaccurate and is best suited for a run-first team. That's not us.

Leinart isn't likely to go anywhere. This coaching staff - the one that got this inept franchise to the Superbowl in its second year - hasn't given up on him. Fans have (then again they gave up on Warner and every other Pro Bowler on our roster a few years ago) and so has the media.

I trust this coaching staff and I'll let them decide. I guess that's just me[/QUOTE]

Wrong! me too. ;)

Common sense I would say. They made him available before the season, they will do it again with Doucet showing that he can play and the Cards being 6-1 without Boldin.

You may be right. Time will tell.

for all of you who want to trade Leinart, who do you suggest our starting QB be next year if Warner retires?
McNabb-not available
Vick-be serious
BSP-c'mon
rookie-Whiz won't let a RB or DB to get on the field until he trusts them. Do you reallly think he'll put his offense in the hands of a rookie.
Pennnington-the guy's shoulder are so bad he may never play in the NFL again.
career backup- why wouldn't you see what ML can do fulltime with the offense before you just go with a Charlie Frye or Bruce Gradkowski? You can find someone like that any time.
Jason Campbell- he's someone i would look to bring in for competition to ML and not just hand the position to him. Of course, the Skins have to let him go first.

so unless a guy like Carson Palmer becomes available, you're not going to find a better alternative to ML. A guy who has been in the system for 3 years and Whiz has said he has full confidence in him.

Also, Leinart would likely step in and already be the best QB in the division. Not that that is saying alot. The Rams and Seahawks are likely going the rookie route because they're rebuilding and Bulger and Hasselback are done. Alex Smith has had chances and shown a couple flashes but for most part can't throw the ball more than 7 yards downfield.

Rolle was the leading tacker on this team this week.............

this is the same point i was going to bring up. I disagree with any thought that Rolle should not have been playing.

From what I could see at the game, it looked like most of the time Rolle was on his own as the deep man and Wilson was camped out on the line. They might not have sent Wilson every time but he was definitely playing up in the box most of the day.

I agree that Rolle looked less than 100% but i feel that he still brought it, i saw him lay some pretty good hits IMO.

I think Vick is owed an amount next year that makes it prohibitive to keep him, but he's not an option for us IMO. If McNabb were available, I wouldn't sneeze at the opportunity--but just like Leinart, it depends on who else is available and what Whiz envisions.

Hey, just want to chime in here one more time and say that despite the defensive coverage meltdown in the second half, aside from the first down near debacle that might have resulted in an 80 yard game ending TD bomb, the next two plays the Cardinals had banketed in coverage...and, there was no better time for that my friends...kudos to Billy Davis and the players on those two plays, which gave us one of the greatest joys of our football watching days.

The scary thing on Rolle was how badly he was beaten on Jennings twice on balls Rodgers missed. I knew he was hurt but he was really laboring going after Jennings. The first one might have been a blown coverage the way Rolle acted but it's scary when your FS, the last line of defense, gets beaten that badly twice.

Thanks Mitch. Tell me, why do the Cards refuse to play Toler at nickle & Johnson at safety? Toler to me can handle the bigger WR's better than Adams & looks like those same matchups will exist this weekend. Clearly it's because they are rookies.
I'd rather play Toler than Ralph Brown

4. As for Matt Leinart to Seattle, the things that makes this scenario intriguing:

1. If Warner returns, Leinart's cap hit nexy year is $6M...and is $14M in 2011. That's $20M over the next two years for a player who quite frankly has done almost nothing to warrant that type of salary.

2. The thing is, if the Cardinals can get a 1st (Seattle has two 1sts) or a 2nd for Leinart...it may be wise to take that deal because with $14M staring the club in the face in 2011, the team may have to release him anyway...and in that case they get nothing.
Why would Seattle give a first rounder for Leinart? Why?

Why would Seattle give a first rounder for Leinart? Why?

Why would Dallas pay a 1st, 3rd, and 5th for Roy Williams.
Why would Miami only trade Welker away for a 2nd rounder.
Why would NE trade away the last leader on their D for a 1st rounder in Seymour.
Why would the Raiders do it when his contract ends this March, a 1st rounder for a one year rental or huge franchise tag price.
Why does a player in the draft get drafted way higher then anyone anticipates?

What is the point, it only takes one team to get so down on a player that they sell really low or it only takes one team to get so enamored with a player they buy high.

Do I myself think it is doubtful. Sure I do, but again it only takes one team.
