Which team do you consider the Card’s most hated rival?

For me it has long been the Cowpies. This goes back to being a St. Louis Cardinal fan and watching the Cowpies have their great seasons while the Cards struggled. There were a few good seasons in there (the Don Coryell years) and a victory or two (who can forget the Monday night beat down the Cards delivered that had Don Meredith crying in his beer—man, I’m old). Of course, the Cowpies have been blah for many years now and stand to have the worst D in football history this year. Still, that recent come-from-behind win vs. them in the national game was great. You would have thought it was a Cowpie home game with all the screen shots of Jerry in his box viewing the game (including his reaction when the Cards pulled out the win). The housekeeping staff are still scrubbing the stains in the carpet left behind by JJ.

Guess my reaction is changing. Right now, I’d say the Seahags since they are in our division and won the SB. Their Howdy Dowdy coach is a cheat who ruined a college program and walked away. Nothing against the Seahag players—just really dislike their head coach. That win in their home stadium last year with all that ‘12th man’ baloney was fantastic. The Cards D put the foot down on the Seahags even after Palmer threw more completions to the Seattle D than to our WRS. Let’s hope the Cards have more opportunity to break out the Skittles vs the Seahags.

So, which team makes the top of your list as our biggest rival - - - and the team you want to beat more than any other?

I see you are fairly new.

Rivals have to be in your same division so you get two games against them and fight them for playoff standings.

Yes, it is in the division, but you picked the wrong one. Guess again.

Like u it has always been the Cowpies but the Forty Qweers are a close second. Me being old and from St. Louis I also remember those days. I would love to sweep our division this year. Putting the smack down on our division and a home Super Bowl win would be the ultimate year.

The first post to my question and you want to start a pizzing contest on the definition of the word 'rival?'

Every team in the NFL is going after the same prize---to win the SB. Every team in the league is a rival to the Cardinals because they are all competing for the same goal. What rival dictionary did you use to come up with your definition of 'rival?' There is nothig in the basic defintion that says anything about playing two games or fighting for playoff standings.

The team I consider the 'most hated rival' for the Cardinals will most likely be different from that selected by another Cardinal fan. There is no right answer---I don't have to 'guess again.'

Do you want to talk football or do you want to talk dictionary definitions?

I see this is yet another thread that is no longer on topic.

My god what a bunch of douche bag responses to a simple question.

Gimme, ignore those two. JW7 is an odd cat and Desert is probably high.

To answer your question: For me it would be the 9ers and Seahawks as 1a and 1b with the Cowboys a close second.

Some teams I am absolutely neutral on like the Bucs and Jaguars. The Rams I look at like a sad little brother and others I just don't like because of their fanbase i.e. the Eagles and the Raiders.

cowboys were a fan/team rival but i dont think they ever considered us a rival in any way shape or form.

We play them so little now that I still hate them but our rivals are all in division now and for me the most hated is 1a SF 1b seattle. easy.

49ers all the way. Hate everything about them. From Vernon whiny Davis, to Boldin still being bitter. Harbaugh is as close to a giant baby as a grown man can be.

Worst of all are their fans. They had completely given up on the whiners several years ago. Now the team is doing well, niners fans everywhere. Probably the single-most fair weather franchise in all of sports (though the Cowboys are close). On top of all of this they have really taken it to us on the field the last few years.

I can't go with the Cowboys (not competitive lately, nor in the division anymore). I don't care for Seattle, but I have to respect Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, and Kam Chancellor. Those three get it done on the field. Seattle fans are also kind of petty, unwilling to give credit to other teams for playing well. Fairly myopic evaluation of football in general IMO.

I live in 49er country and I'm surrounded by their horrible fair weather fans. I can't stand that team.

In a van...down by the river.
Niners since forever, Patriots since 2001. The hate is strong.

Some fresher, less bitter rivalries include Washington(spurned by the RG3 trade), Carolina(although that little bitch Steve Smith is gone now) and Dallas(because they've owned us lately...if only we could meet them in December).

Used to be the Cowboys. They have been irrelevant ever since the Cards brutalized them in that playoff game, now so many years ago.

It is clearly the 49ers now. Everything about them is offensive worthless, and weak. They are the slime on old moist floating dog crap.
They are garbage, their coach is garbage, their fans are garbage, and I wouldn't mind if they just disappeared one and all.

But that's just me.

49ers and it's not even close. I can't even remember the last time Dallas was relevant and they won't be until JJ relinquishes his duties/kicks the bucket.
