I'm tired of saying ''there's always next year.'' The playoffs are gut wrenching when I watch the Suns.

I've said it since it happened, the Paxson shot isn't the worst thing from the end of that game, if they simply would have defended Jordan the possesion before instead of letting him run down the court uncontested at all for a layup, the Paxson shot never happens.

Check the video, 40 seconds to go, Jordan gets a rebound and runs the length of the court. No one defended the ball.

True. Mark West should've been left in the game and knocked MJ on his ass coming down the lane. WTF was Frank Johnson put into the game late with a lead over Mark West/O.Miller? I suppose for FT% but come on...the BULLS left him & he missed a wide open 14 footer. Play to win Westy.
Like i said earlier,our best teams have been coached by Westphaul who was a cheerleader, and D'Antoni who is a stubborn defense"less" turd.
Westy was good for running offense out of timeouts. There's that word again....offense....blah!

The best center in Suns history (Amare is a pf and Shaq has to play a whole season first) was 6'9" and two and a buck dripping wet.

When Alvan Adams went against Dave Cowans in the 76 finals it was a 6-9 vs a 6-7 center.

Horry's is the worst for me because it was cheap. Paxon and Elie's shots weren't cheap. I would rather have them as the defining moments of a lost series rather than a flagrant foul away from the basket--and something done only to rattle our PG and incite his teammates into retaliating.

I would rather be beaten by any of the others than via the small sacrifice of a role player breaking the rules in order to benefit from the retaliation. The Suns received the vastly greater penalty from a situation they didn't instigate, made all the worse when the NBA looked away from Garnett's more serious infraction these past playoffs.

Like cbeyond, I see ainge leaving paxon, running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Damn, paxon might have been the only bull on the floor poor danny COULD defend. And leaving a 46%(92-93 playoffs) 3 pt shooter all alone to do WHAT exactly? I remember all the rediculous handchecks(stiffarms) that KJ endured from pippen and MJ in that series, but ainge wins the prize for "defensive dodo bird". But at least the suns players made the mistake -that cost them the series- on the floor.

Above that memory are the suspensions that probably derailed a championship run for the suns in '07. KT might have still been a sun this past year, for another title run. Sad, very sad that the NBA probably turned a series around with that call, and likely historically changed the career of steve Nash. Well, they've apparently learned as they did not suspend garnett and derail the celtics title hopes this year for his actions in an altercation. Hopefully the celtics fans understand why garnett wasnt suspended, they can give credit to the suns for being sterns lab rats there.

I don't see how anyone can argue this. This is stated perfectly. After watching the Paxton shot and after watching the Horry "shot", I wanted to crawl in a whole and die, I wanted set my TV on fire. I have hated watching the playoffs these past years especially this past one. As soon as the Garnett foul went down, I thought to myself, finally it is gonna happen to someone else. Nope, nothing.

Did I mention I live with a Spurs fan? And she is my girlfriend. Who would have known you have to ask a girls favorite basketball team before dating them.

Horry's cross check into the boards was absolutely one of the worst things ever to happen to the suns. But I want to change it up a little. What about Big Shot Bob in general. We keep talking about all these final shots that killed the Suns, what about Horry's shot that put the Suns away? I say Robert Horry is the worst thing that has happened to the Suns.

When Adams and Cowens played, it was Adams 6'9"-212 vs. Cowens 6'8"-230.

Cowens had muscles. Adams had the skinniest arms of all ten players on the court -- all the time.

The only thing that leads you to call Alvan Adams the best Center in Suns history, I believe, are the stats he accumulated from his longevity.

John MacLeod recruited him from the team he coached in Oklahoma and camped him at the Center position and on the perimeter.

Every Suns power forward had to play out of position covering Center with Adams on the floor.

The lone exceptions were when James Edwards and Rich Kelley were allowed some time at Center.

It is ironic that the worst trade in NBA history -- Dennis Johnson to the Celts for Rick Robey resulted in a legitimate Center -- 3rd string, but a Center -- playing Power Forward alongside Adams at "Center".

And as has been pointed out some time ago, whenever we played the Lakers, Adams was guarded by their Point Guard -- Magic Johnson, also 6'9" and 18 pounds heavier. And every other Sun was guarded by a guy with more muscles.

Kareem vs. our Power Forward. Their Power Forward vs. our Small Forward. Their Small Forward vs. our Shooting Guard. Their Shooting guard vs. our Point Guard.

The domino effect starting with our 212 lb. "Center". Alvan Adams, the best Center in Suns history? He was a Center in name only.

There, I got that off my chest. Which was probably more powerful than Alvan Adams, and I'm 5'10" 170.

It is true what you say, but AA was still a great player for us. It was not his fault they played him like that. He was agile and smart, great passer, good jumpshot. Kind of a little like Larry Bird, though obviously Bird was better. But how would the Celtics have looked if Bird played center? I bet the Suns would have tried it.

My worst IN THE MOMENT, believe it or not, may have been going down 2-0 to the Lakers in the first round of the 92 Finals year. James Worthy spiked the ball when he walked off the court, and he might as well have been spiking it off my nose. They had no business owning us on our home floor, but they did. Then Westphal made the famous prediction. I wasn't right in the head until we won game 5 in OT. Worst sporting week of my life.

Others: The two Houston series. That's the closest we ever got to winning the title. Should have won it both years. Blame Chuck. He was partying like CRAZY during those series.

The loss against the Spurs without Diaw and Amare. I was there live, and I've never rooted harder at a sporting event. We stood the whole game. And to lose like that after leading the whole game? CRUSHING.

Losing Joe Johnson. Like a month-long auto wreck in slow motion.

I am not going to read any of this but everytime I see this thread, I cant stop thinking about how I felt after game 6, Western conf. Finals, Vs The Mavs


I thought that was going to be the year. Everything was so crazy that playoffs. 7 games vs Lakers,(TT cant see me three!!!!!!) 7 vs the Clips(Bells three from the corner with his man all in his face). When Diaw hit the game winner vs the Mavs, I thought that was it.........we just ran out of juice. That was the best year of basketball I can remember.

yeah, mine too. It sux that the fix was on in the Finals. If the Suns had passed the Mavs Stern wouldn't have fixed anything, Suns would def. beaten the Heat.

As it is, sometimes I think, "what the use in getting there if there was no chance to win". but, atleast we have the WCF banner. . . . blah!!

This is why it is so hard to watch the Suns in the playoffs. When they finally seem they are going to make it, they always find some way to lose.
