Plot Summary for Saved! (2004)

Mary (Jena Malone) is a good Christian girl who goes to a good Christian high school where she has good Christian friends, mainly Hilary Faye (Mandy Moore), and a perfect Christian boyfriend, Dean (Chad Faust). Her life seems perfect, until the day that she finds out that Dean may be gay. After "seeing" a vision of Jesus in a pool, she does everything in her power to help him turn straight, including offering up her virginity. But none of it helps because Dean's caught and sent to a "degayification" center and Mary ends up pregnant. It's during her time of need that she becomes real friends with the school's set of "misfits," including Cassandra (Eva Amurri), the school's only Jewish girl; Roland (Macaulay Culkin), Hilary Faye's wheelchair-bound brother, and Patrick (Patrick Fugit), the skateboarder son of the school's principal, Pastor Skip (Martin Donovan); whilst Hilary Faye turns her into a social outcast.

This is one of my favorite movies. Macauley Caulkin was absolutely superb. Mandy Moore was actually pretty decent - definitely one of her best roles so far. Michael Stipe helped produce it.

Definitely dont judge this movie by it's cover, or who stars in it. This movie is frickin hilarious and really drives home the point that we are all not perfect, and we shouldn't try to be. Whether that's a perfect girlfriend, a perfet human, or a perfect Christian.

I'll admit. I saw it. Not bad, not great.

Plot was good. Acting wasn't GREAT. Pretty funny.

Fairly accurate assessment. Mandy Moore can't act her way out of a paper bag. The movie still had some pretty funny parts though.

Saved and part of another one I saw on cable (I don't remember the title, but it was fairly recent).

Rob and I watched this movie finally last night - loved it.

Sidenote: Rob actually owns the issue of "Honcho" that Dean was looking at :)

Oh, man, was this a good flick. A nice, funny stab at religious hypocrisy. And Caulkin was quite good in this...really surprised me.

He was EXCELLENT in this movie. And I thought Mandy Moore did a great job as well.

I own this movie...should give it a rewatch soon.

I recently watched this. Funny movie. I really like Jena Malone, she’s one of my favorite younger actors. Macaulay was excellent in this as well.
