Series finale postponed because of something very similar to today newscast shooting happening in it
Yeah I'm mixed on this. I get the reason why, but there needs to be a separation of TV (fiction) and reality. Does TV really need to fold like a limp noodle at any news event?

I just hope they don't cut the scene when it airs.

I wish they'd have shown it. I hate when they delay or edit movies or TV shows because of current events.

I feel it makes it a much bigger deal now that they have gone public with the news of a similar scene and delayed showing it for a week.

really solid finale. and knowing there was a scene that was similar to what happened last week didn't effect my viewing experience at all.

It was a decent finale but somewhat anti-climatic. Although the end scene (scene after the credits) definitely added something to the storyline and made me go WTH afterwards. Definitely makes me look forward to unwinding that.

Also, anybody else think that Mr. Strangles (Tyrell) is tied up in a basement somewhere at the hands of Mr. Robot?

the literal chekov's gun in the popcorn never came back into play... even though they showed that moment in the previously on scenes. I've got to believe it has something to do with what happened to Tyrell and we'll see that gun paid off next season.

What a chilling score. And they way that they shoot these scenes is great. So much tension via silence. So much headroom in the shot. It really is unique to this show in so many ways.

The eyes of Tyrells wife as she questions Elliott. The parking lot attendant and Elliott's reactions.

Loved this first season.

Y'all knew who the Chinese man was at the end talking to Evil corps CEO is, right?

The group at the end were the 1% of the 1%. The group throughout history that always survives the fall of society. Also, I believe Tyrell was the one behind the mask during the fsociety broadcast while Elliot was at Evil corp looking for Tyrell.

Just binge-watched the USA marathon (via DVR) and loved it. I caught so many little nuances along the way.. the E Corp logo at times conjured images of Enron, BofA, and other companies to me. Steel Mountain being a play on Iron Mountain. And the HVAC system being compromised is an offshoot of the Target breach. Plus the obvious FC parallels, which have been described at length earlier in the thread (haven't seen that movie in ages though).

This is a great show. The best drama? Maybe not. Still though, some really fun stuff.

In other news, I just picked up a nice fsociety t-shirt over the weekend. :D

The show lost a bit with me with the reveal of who Mr. Robot was, but if this should you excited for season 2.

I still appreciate what the show is about.

Two characters I think will be important; Tyrell and Fernando.

Now that GOT is done, July 13 seems like a LONG way away.

I binge watched this a month ago, and a buddy put forward a neat proposition:

Is Elliiot Tyrell?

I've wondered what the connection with Elliot and Tyrell was too earlier in the thread.

I don't think they're the same, but do think Tyrell has a strong influence on Elliot similar to how his dad does. Maybe Tyrell is a relative to Elliot (brother or uncle?). We've already got two family members (Dad and sister) influencing him to avenge his fathers death.

this was as far away from the USA Blue Skies network as anything I've ever seen. wish we would have had this kind of latitude when working on Necessary Roughness!

I REALLY liked the pilot, but hope this doesn't end up a twist on Fight Club where Mr. Robot and everyone he works with are really different personalities of the lead character.
Exactly what the wife and I have been saying.

S2 has left me kinda numb. no Tyrell is hurting the show. and to be honest, I don't give a crap about the FBI tracking the gang down... and now that the cat is out of the bag with Mr. Robot, that relationship just feels so claustrophobic and like a trope... which is weird because even though I knew from episode 1 that's where it was going, it didn't bother me nearly as much.

Still loving the split personality stuff but I agree that no Tyrell makes the show feel like it's missing something.

didn't see "the big twist" coming this time, but also didn't really care. this show has been slowly losing me all season and the twist did even more to push me away. really disappointed in S2 so far.

I thought the twist was really good and reminded the viewer that you are another entity in his head. He didnt trust "us" at the end of season 1 and this episode was an awesome reminder that we arent viewing this series as a regular audience, which fascinates me.
