Murray's agent apparently broke off contact talks?

Show one quote. One quote.
“I think I was blessed with the cognitive skills to just go out there and just see it before it happens,” Murray said. “I’m not one of those guys that’s going to sit there and kill myself watching film. I don’t sit there for 24 hours and break down this team and that team and watch every game because, in my head, I see so much.”

There you go. Regardless of how you feel about your own ability, it's a bad look to put it in the New York Times right before you epically collapse at the back end of the season.

This doesn't demonstrate the fake news @Stout is stating.

What fake news? He doesn't commit to film, thinks he can "go out there and just see it before it happens," and has proven that when the going gets tough, he... I dunno... doesn't want to break down the teams?

Regardless of if he just worded it wrong, he honestly needs to know better. In your day-to-day job, if your "leader" told you he just saw it better than everyone else and was that "gifted," would you put in the extra work to succeed? Even if you were that good, would you go get quoted on national news saying it?

I dunno though, you're "Captain of Team Murray," so I guess he's infallible because he can scramble around when things break down.

The idiocy on this board never ceases to amaze me. When Warner was trying to get money out of our FO, didn’t he make a trip to our arch rivals… the Niners? So, were the same group that are criticizing Murray for doing what every QB should do, did you criticize Warner just as severely? No you didn’t. Everyone need to STHU & wait to see how it all plays out. Otherwise, you all look foolish.
A super bowl QB and a guy who refused to join his teammates to finish his first playoff game hardy team due the same treatment by fans.

Kyler is acting like a little punk with nothing to stand on right now because he has latched his wagon to a total nerd chunky slim ball agent who thinks about the money before the sport because this guy does not have his dreams latched onto being a pro athlete. I cannot stand Kyler Murray right now, but by the same token he might be the best draft pick the Cards ever selected because we would all hope that following the natural progression of age he will mature. I wish the Cards in a unrealistic scenario would tell him that they will back the Brinks truck for him provided he dumps this agent and tell Kingbury the same
Dude, that’s the agents job. And every player coming off their deal is thinking about the money before the sport. Believing otherwise is pure Pollyanna.

This talk about not paying him is crazy. Hes a decent enough QB to sign but you guys would rather go through the crap QB carousel again? Crazy talk.

Yeah I think you have to pay him. It’s just not a fun thought. And I always thought if we had a young QB extending him would be an exciting scenario.

Bro you're just a damn anti-Kyler meme. I can't take any comment about Murray seriously from you.

You do realize the Kyler supporters have been claiming I'm anti-Kyler all offseason? This is hilarious.

My point is that Murray hasn't said jack all this entire offseason so @Stout comment is complete rubbish.

Obviously. However, its how Keim is handling things that makes me wonder (a little bit) if he just needs to move him now. If he's not the guy, Keim, then what are we doing or waiting for.

I don't want checkers master Keim trying to play chess. Either give him the contract or move on.

I reckon Keim said to Bidwill "It's all cool, we will deal with it when we are ready not Kyler". Now he's looking like a bit of a doucher as the QB market has exploded around him. Doesnt want to be seen scrambling now so still trying to play it cool, as he's stubborn.

Hey V, It comes down to if, IF it were to come down to Kyler refusing to play, sitting out or is demands a trade then Mayfield would be an option.
What????
WOW... The Ball seems to be in the Cardinals court at this time. Steve Keim drats bad and now that he has gotten paid, I think Cards fans are in for some bad news and really drunken draft picks smh...From my understanding, the devil is in the details. I've heard (Not sure about exact wording in Every NFL players contract) but, Kyler Murray only has to be on the Cardinals active roster for 3 weeks of the season and he gets his entire salary for the season (Keep in mind. That doesn't mean he has to suit up for those 3 weeks... He has to just be on the active roster.)
If you think Baker Mayfield is a better fit for the Cardinals (A guy that Kyler Murray played better than twice (Watch the games, even on youtube)). Than perhaps you need to start posting about how the Cards need to trade Kyler and bring Rosen back smh.
Even J.J Watt states that with Kyler Murray the Cards "May Be Just F***ing Better" against Baker Mayfield and the top rushing Cleveland Browns.

I admit I've been one of the most vocal Kyler detractors this board has, and I've waffled on my perception, trying to take ownership of bad takes. I guess I have to embrace my original thoughts.

He's tantalizing, but his personality leaves things to be desired. I'm going to have to chill on accepting whether or not he has arrived or failed, but I can honestly say that I don't see a leader in him now, and I don't see a coaching staff that will challenge him.

I haven't gotten the chance until recently to engage the board like I used to, so if you've been anti-Kyler, more power to you, but IMO, KM has been very underwhelming in his media approach here. @Stout is kind embracing reality, from what I see.

That wasn't MY point, and you're the one who responded to me. Thank you for admitting you tried to move the goal posts. Provide me one quote, one quote, where I said he's been making verbal statements this offseason. I'll wait.

In fact, I'll bump what I said, and you can maybe actually respond to the content and not your own imaginary narrative.

Why should we, at this point, trust he will mature? His maturity trajectory spiked sharply DOWNWARDS last season, and has continued to plummet in the offseason. He has taken no responsibility for anything and has gotten petty and demanding after a historic playoff loss. I didn't have KM maturity issue questions heading into last season; I now have tons of questions on the topic. That's trending in the wrong way.
I see where you got confused, Krango. This says nothing about quotes or him speaking to the media. So, you weren't being purposefully obtuse. I'll give you a pass and say you weren't trying to move the goal posts, just misunderstanding. Happens on a message board.

He's played the "I'm taking my ball and going home" social media game, allowed (perhaps directing), his agent to be a jackass on his behalf, okayed (or at least didn't disavow) the ALL CAPS statement, and has threatened to hold out if he's not the first 3-year QB in history to get a deal this early. I'd say that's all petty and demanding.

We won't suck enough to be #1. Remember we won 2 of 3 games with McCoy at QB.

We would probably win 5-6 games and end up picking 6th or 7th. We would need the capital to move up to #1.

I'd take the holdout thing with a huge asterisk. That was Tom Pellisero speculation. His tweet said "I can't imagine Kyler would play without an extension" or words to that effect. He was clearly speculating.

Agree with all the rest though.

I can't recall a QB with so much talent ever being so far below the level of fan love he should be. Even the fans that support him would normally support him more. And there probably isn;t a QB in the league that has so many fans disgruntled with him. Truly astounding PR snafu.

You clearly know absolutely nothing about the apprenticeship required to play in MLB and are clueless about contract structures in baseball.

Nobody jumps from College to the big leagues, and no one who hasn't played the game in years has a chance in Hell of graduating through the minor league levels to reach the major leagues in months. This is all a figment of imagination.

Find something else to complain about that you have at least a passable knowledge about.
Post without the insults.please.

If Murray tries switching to baseball, at this point, in 10 years he will be on an episode of Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel, trying to explain what happened to his career.

i just wish this thing would fast forward to what we all know is going to happen: he signs an extension prior the regular season starting and we can all move on

everything in between is simply posturing for negotiations

The point I'm making is that we don't know Kyler....like even a little bit.

Criticism of his personality is pretty much all speculation. Everyone who knows him raves about him.

He is responsible for his declining play down the stretch.

I think his tone in the only public engagement was the most meaningful thing we've seen.

Cleaning out social media is something kids do. It doesn't mean the same thing when a grown man like Pat Peterson does it.

Where did he threaten to hold out? I haven't seen Murray say that. We've seen speculation go both ways.

I’m not saying Baker is better than Murray. I’m not advocating replacing Murray with Baker ( or Garrapolo). It’s about alternatives if Kyler can’t, doesn’t or refuses to come to terms.

There’s stuff outside of statistics that Kyler could improve on, like his attitude towards watching film. Preparedness for games. Decision making. He’s supposed to be a “transcendent talent.” Go prove it with the the things you can actually control.

Hell, stepping up his body language would be one great move. Go get some time in with a media trainer.
Would be great to see him throw the ball out of bounds rather than take a 3-4 yard loss. But hey, he’s only been in the league for 3 years… give him time.
