1. Regardless of record, there are no juggernaut uber-dominant teams in the NFC this year. Every team has flaws and can be beaten. The home teams still have an advantage but that's true every year.

2. I see the Cardinals' weakest link right now, for tomorrow only, as being Kurt Warner. Not the defense against the run. Not Boldin being hurt. The Kurt Warner who must conduct a pass-heavy offense outdoors, in cold and wet weather, perhaps windy, on the road.

3. No eventual outcome will surprise me, except winning. I'm always hopeful but skeptical this time. The cumulative confluence of conditions we are facing historically have resulted in bad performances by Warner and by the Cardinals, since long before Warner.

4. Got my haircut today by a woman hair dresser I like. No male barber has ever given me a haircut I like so I switched. Found out she and her husband had gone to the Cards game, courtesy of Jamaal Anderson, ex-Falcon RB. Her husband works for Jamaal, installing high-end home gyms for athletes and celebs. He just put one in for Philip Rivers.

Already football fans (Florida Gators and Michigan Wolverines) my hair dresser and whole family are now newly-hooked Cards fans. Never had a 40 year old woman I barely know spend half an hour, while cutting my hair, break down the good and bad she saw in a Cards game. Is this a sign from the football Gods?

5. North Carolina conjures up bad memories for me. Can't help it. From the chiggers and ticks picked up during practice amphibious landings on Onslow beach, Camp Lejeune, to two chopper forced landings, when being heloed to BT11 (bomb target 11), a swampy marsh island off Cherry Point, where I helped service and repair radars. Then an upside down car on September 28, 1975 at 1:10 AM on some back road I don't recall, on the way to the base at Cherry Point. Ugh. Have not been back there since and never will go again.

We need to fly into North Carolina, wreak havoc, then get out fast. I'll be the happiest man in the world.

6. Some things are beyond explanation. Despite my reservations about Warner my gut keeps suggesting we do have a chance. Maybe something unexpected from Hightower or Arrington or Leinart, if Julius Peppers (gawd forbid) gets a clean shot at Kurt early, courtesy of Brown or Gandy.

7. Go Cards.

You crazy. I'm going to sleep like a baby. I am confident the boys will get it done. They have to get it done. They play well in the big games, and the Arizona Cardinals want it more.

I think you are right on with #2. If the Good Warner shows up we have a chance.

Win or lose it's been a fun season.

I wish I had a gut feeling but this one's a blank, I have nothing and that's odd, before the Minny game with Jake I knew in my gut we were going to lose but this one is just not sending anything out to me nothing at all.

I hope that's a good sign.

I'm certainly more optimistic this time in the second round than 10 yrs ago going against the 15-1 Minnesota Vikings (I didn't think we had a chance at all then).

I think in order to win this game the offense MUST play mistake free and the defense or special teams is going to have to score or set up an easy score. The Panthers are better than when we played them earlier in the season but they aren't unbeatable.

More than anything the reason I want us to win(aside from my borderline sickening love for this team) is to SHUT up all these ignorant fans/media types still calling this the worst playoff team ever (what does that make Atlanta a team we beat?).

I am nervous with anticipation. My palms are sweaty, I have some anxiety, butterflies in the stomach sort of thing... been that way all day. Kinda strange, haven't felt this way since my wedding day. I don't handle disappointment well :)

I tell you what, for all the fans of this team, for the players like Wilson, Q even for Warner, bleck, :), this is a rare alignment of stars, it's the equivalent of seeing 7 7 then waiting an eternity for the next number to lock in.

This is huge and oddly from the minute they got in this scenario was what I pictured, us going to Carolina instead of NY, that is huge IMO.

Philly is playing it's part too.

This could be huge, but again, past that I got nothing.

I pray that Kurt's wisdom and experience with identifying defensive schemes will overide any physical issues related with age. I have a good feeling about our defense too, yes, I will sleep good tonight also.

"Big Games"?? What - all 3 of them in the last 60 years??

Anyway, of all the strange outcomes the NFL is capable of producing, a Cards and Eagles victory weekend would rank very low on the list of oddities. Rather, it is indeed very likely that this scenario can play itself out.
Fella's - tackle well. No STUPID PENALTIES. And BRING IT! You do that and I like our chances...

That's pretty much exactly how I feel about tomorrow. I'll admit, if given the option to take a division title and a playoff win GUARANTEED, or just take our chances, before the season I'd have taken what we've accomplished and been happy to do so. But, man, I'd sure love to see the experts eat their words at least one more time. We will have EARNED more respect if we win tomorrow.

Even if we win, there will be a lot of "experts" saying Carolina just did not play well

Who cares? They can go stick their heads where the sun never shines...

I had a dream last night that the Cardinals won 41-20. Rolle intercepted a pass at the end and took it for 6. Man that dream ruled.

That said, I think we lose, but damn I hope we win!

I had a dream we were trailing by 4 with under a minute to play and Boldin was tackled at the 2 yard line after a WR screen play from about the 20. I woke up so I don't know how it ended LOL.

I don't have a strong feeling either way about this one. I'd feel a whole lot better if in the pregame I see Anquan Boldin in uniform ready to go. (We'll need all our bullets in this one IMO.)

I'll really be anxious to see how Adrian Wilson does in returning to his home area. If, somehow, he can get fired up and infect his teammates early on, the defense could play well.

Whatever happens, it's been a good run this season.

GO CARDINALS!!!

.

Reminds me of something I saw that made me laugh --

I am at lunch and in the bar they have ESPN on -- on the bottom scroll, they have playoff facts. Listed for Cards vs Panthers--- "Cardinals are 1-5 on the road in the playoffs".

Good heavens. Definition of a worthless stat. I am sure Jim Hart's struggles in LA and Minnesota have alot to do with this team.
