No worries, Monty! (Lol, I just now realized that your user name is based off your avatar.) I was just being sarcastic!

Spikes in the 3rd round wouldn't be a terrible pick, but I am quite skeptical regarding his potential. I hope the Cards address the ILB postition in the 1st or 2nd round though. Then they look to a different position in the third.

I thought they liked Walker as an heir for Hayes, no?

The Coaches all say they like him but he is an UDFA who couldn't take much playing time from Hayes and his bad back.

If we don't draft a SLIB that would speak volumes to the faith the Cards have in Walker.

Many don't realize that the NEED to replace Hayes is just barely below replacing Lennon as a starter.

1) If we can get Spikes in the third, I'm all for it. I'm not as worried about his slow 40s as some.

2) Regarding Hayes, are you concerned about his health or his ability (when healthy)? Because if he can get healthy (a question mark), I think he's very solid. Better than solid--he's good.

If the coaching and medical staff can be satisfied with his recovery, then I think we can hold on that backup/heir apparent SILB position until later. Seems much easier to find that thumping MLB than the versatile WILB.

Or their faith in Hayes.

True dat. I'm just going off the assumption that Hayes back issue is a ticking bomb. Keeping that in mind the Cards may draft a SILB even if they do have faith in Walker.
