Look at those guys in the front 7 still left I guarantee were not done wheeling and dealing. A lot of really good defensive guys left

Kind of shocking that so many DBS in a deep class went in the first, and only one defensive tackle got taken in the first.

Probably not going guard, but the UCLA guy and Gabe Jackson have some value. Joel Bitonio is another lineman still there too.

I heard both Keim and BA mention in post draft interviews today that the trade for the extra 3rd "allows us to move up in the 2nd if we want too."

If we use that extra rd3 pick from the trade down to move up from #52 to grab one of the 1st 8 guys I have on my list, now I like this draft!

I feel that it should only take a 2nd and 4th to move up at the most. Is there a player in the 2nd that you would target? At 27 I was talking myself into Tuitt and I wonder how long he will last in the 2nd round. Van Noy and Attoachu may be good targets as well.

Considering that there are 16 player I like very much and we select 20th in rd2, I d take my chances that we don't need to trade up and one will call to us.

If you had said a week ago that the cards would come out of rounds one and two with Bucannon and Ealy allot of people would have been very happy

We have 3 of the next 52 picks

Here are guys who I would love for us to get 1 of and who could help us right now. Better yet, trade up and get 2 of them. I would sacrifice our 4-6 round picks to be able to get 2 or 3 of these guys.

Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB
Louis Nix III, DT
Stan Jean-Baptiste, CB
Scott Crichton, DE
Jeremy Hill, RB
Bruce Ellington, WR
Troy Niklas, TE
Weston Richburg, C
Chris Borland, ILB

and for our future:
Derek Carr, QB

I can't imagine Ealy, Hageman or Nix will last this long. I like Troy Niklas, who can make the tough 3rd down reception and can really block well. I also think Jack Mewhort fits, but more as a guard who could become a right tackle eventually. Too many of the players listed above have major risk factors. No need to take a risk here.

Copy cat syndrome. Seahawks model.
Seahawks loom large over the first round

The Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII by dramatically reversing the pass-happy trend of the NFL and playing stout defense, particularly in the secondary and in the pass rush. As a result, last night’s haul included a record nine defensive backs, including four safeties.

It could be that two 3rds moves us up to having two 2nds or that Keim would be more willing to give up a 4th since he now has two 3rds.

Maybe, but the Seahawks also have a ton of big guys to rotate through the middle. I just think that there's a sea change going on at the cornerback position, and teams didn't want to feel left out. It's a kind of generational turnover that we just saw from the Quarterback position in the last three years.

LB - Kyle Van Noy - The same ability and instincts as Shazier, just not as athletic.

LB - Demarcus Lawrence - I think Kiper is right is the only pure pass rusher left on the board.

Five DL's - Hageman, Tuitt, Nix, Jernigan(I dont care about his drug test), and Ealy(I consider him a DE after he gains 10 pounds over the year, who ever picks him and stands him up he will be out of the league in 3 years IMO).

TE - Austin Seferian-Jenkins

Happy with any one of those 8. I could be talked into Bitonio, and Moses, Su'a-Filo for the OL as well, just not excited about OL in round 2. Not as high on Attaochu as most but wouldn't hate that either.

Kiper updated his 2nd rounder and has Attaochu, Hageman, Jernigan, and Jace Amaro all available when we select @ 52.
