this is assuming that the henry deal goes through (hopefully without swapping seconds) and assuming r.hill re-signs

1.) d.johnson (olb)- because he's the best player in the draft and outside of dansby our lb's are very weak. he fits in perfect in the wlb spot.

2.) e. brown (og)- may be the best OG prospect in the draft, that is as big as a need as any.

3.) c.webster (cb)- an all-american that proved he could be left on an island while saban blitzed everyone else.

3.) a.mcpherson (QB)- tons of upside perfect to be traned behind another arena guy.

4.) r.bartell (cb)- great athlete with tons of upside and good size and speed. may be the best small school player in the draft.

5.) bpa- a TE would be nice

7.) m.clarett (rb)- why not, if he's a problem or doesn't produce in camp, cut him and all you lost was a 7th

#8 - Derrick Johnson OLB Texas - In my opinion here's the best player in the draft. We don't have a huge need @ OLB (or any need for that matter), but LB's like this don't come along too often. Dansby, Gerald Hayes, and Derrick Johnson would be the heart of our "D" for years to come.

#44 - Alex Smith TE Stanford - This is a need pick, but wouldn't be a reach in any way. Add a young talented TE to an emerging receiving corp and Warner won't have any excuses not to have a great season.

#75 - Ronald Bartell CB Howard - In my opinion CB is our biggest need, and here's a nice corner with a good upside. He's the best corner on the board and again not a reach.

#95 - Andrew Walter QB Arizona State - The 2nd coming of Jake!! Nah not really. A more traditional drop back passer with a big arm. Pre season mocks had this guy rated as a top ten pick, but due to injuries he's dropped off many peoples radar. If healthy and given time to mature could be a franchise QB in my opinion.

#111 - Chris Kemoeatau OG Utah / Richie Incognito OG Nebraska - Either of these guys would give us some needed depth on the o-line. Who wouldn't wanna see a guy with the last name Incognito on their favorite team. Jersey sales will be bangin'.

#168 - Darren Sproles RB Kansas State - This might seem like a stretch that he would be available here, but alot of mocks actually have him being taken further down then this. In my opinion this guy is a Dante Hall clone. Not the kind of guy you want going over the middle when you're playin' the Broncos (LOL), but he's dynamite when he gets the ball in his hands. Would primarily be used as a kick returner and should make that aspect of the game a must watch.

#226 - Chris McKenzie CB Arizona State - This guy ran a sub 4.4 @ the combine and was right near the top of the list in nearly all the drills. Could be a sleaper in my opinion Has all the physical tools to be an NFL corner.

bleedred, that wouldn't be a bad draft, but trust me we don't want incognito. i played high school ball with him at mountain ridge in glendale, the guy is a BIG TIME head case with very serious off the field issues that will only be magnified when he gets that signing bonus. he already has a few assult charges under his belt, not to mention the problems that he hasn't been caught for yet. he was kicked off the team at nebraska and offered a spot at oregon until the coach their heard about/saw his problems and turned him away. Kemoeatau would be nice.

Everybody is on the DJ wagon and while he may be the best player in the draft there is only 1 problem, he won't be there at 8. Sorry to crush your dreams. But if he is there take him and take CB's with the next 2 picks.

I kind of threw him in there for entertainment value. I don't think he's projected to go that early anyways. I didn't know he was such a head case though. Just kinda knew he had a mean streak. Thanks for the info.

I like it a lot, but would like to swap position in the 2nd and 3rd, so it would look something like this:

#44 - Brian McFadden CB Florida State - The Cover 2 Corner with speed that fills the biggest need on the team. I looks like that we can't miss on these Florida State guys in this area, so why not continue that trend?

#75 - Joel Dreessen TE Colorado St. - Dreessen fit another need and is a better fit for Green's offense than Miller or Smith. If we wanted a pure pass-catching TE we might as well re-sign FJ. Dreessen is the best blocker of the top TEs in this draft. He might not be as fast as the other TEs, but he's a better blocker, and since the TE works more on a dump-off target in Green's system, speed isn't that important.

I understand the love being poured on DJ, he's gonna be a stud, but the fact is folks we NEED corners more than LBs. Frankly I think we need to take two first day corners, hopefully a combo of either Rodgers or Rolle in the 1st and either Webster or McFadden in the 2nd or 3rd. Sometimes you gotta go need over BPA, and this is one of those times if we want to keep running the aggressive style of defense that Clancy runs
