It was an interesting night.

First the game start was the same time it has been but it's 9:30 local time and it makes it rough trying to finish the whole game on a monday night with Tuesday work the next day. on top of that, we don't have cable yet, so the wife and I went to a sports bar to watch the game.

We got there and they had some speakers set up and had the audio going through them on several 100' plus Tv's. I was in Business. The Mavs-Spurs ran over a little bit, but it was no big deal. The Suns game started, and I had my plate of food. Life was great. Until....

I noticed a guitar near the front of the place and a few mics. I figured whoever was playing them was done since it was getting pretty late. But NO. Some drunk Hippie in a Tie Dye shirt came up, and another drunk redneck came up to "sing" with him. Being that Memphis is the Birthplace of Rock N Roll and the Home of the Blues, these people decided that some Elvis covers were in order.

I am not from the South and I will never understand how things work here or the way some people do things. I'm a Musician and whatever they were doing was the most terrible thing i've heard. The guy started shaking his hips trying to be Elvis, and all this was right in front of the TV that the Suns game was on. He was trying to tell jokes and he was the only one laughing (Or maybe someone brough in a Chiwawa in Labor, I couldn't tell).

Then in comes some of their friends (They had to be friends to give support to these guys) with a video camera. They start walking around the place with the camera and filming the performace is if it were American Idol. They did close up shots and moved the camera all around like it was a big event to film.

This all happened before half time. I had to leave. Following it on ESPN and joining the chat was better than this crap.

The things I put up with just for some Suns ball. Everyone living in PHX needs to appreciate what they have.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that.

You should have explained to the manager of the "Sports" bar why you were leaving. :)

LOL - A friend of mine arrived at the Arena only to discover that his printed-out Ticketmaster tix were for a Suns LAC exhibition game in San Diego in October 2006! He got timed out and bounced around so much when getting his tix that he punched the final commitment button irritably and w/o looking too closely. Ended up watching it at home. Ticketmaster sux.

Hey Boise, get your cable/satellite TV hooked and be your own master.
Damn, I'm moving out of San Diego at the end of this month and my bloody satellite TV billing cycles end on the 25th of each month. I've been pondering whether to just pay an extra month's cable fee ($40) so I can watch the games for 5 days at home, instead of being at the mercy of noisy sports bars.

Funny part - I will be spending the next month in Dallas! hmm that should be i-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g.....
