Guys, this is a movie forum. Any continued posts that leak into P&R will be moved to that forum and/or deleted. Keep your posts about the movie at hand, not your views of Scientology itself.

I finally watched this. This really reminds me of all the Mark Bunker videos I used to see on his website with the Scientologists filming him and trying to get under his skin.

I can't tell if Mark Rathbun is still a practicing Scientologist, but just not with the organization.

It did sound like he still buys into some of the practices, just not the religion as a whole. I feel like they mentioned he tried to start his own thing, that used similar stuff but did not worship Hubbard and that the church came after him for it.

Kinda like when he did the exercise with everyone but then got mad when they all did the clap at the Hubbard painting part of the exercise. It seemed he found the exercise to be beneficial if you removed the worship at the end.

This is seriously a thing? They actually worship Ron L.? Good thing he didn't ask them to drink Kool-aid or say Heil Hubbard.

He created dianetics. He isn't God to them but according to this documentary they celebrate things by turning to paintings of him and clapping. Check out the documentary on Netflix, it'll keep you entertained

Watching that stuff is creepy...those people act like robots that are under the influence of some heavy drugs and have no perception of reality.

it does have creepy parts but ultimately, there are very few practicing Scientologists in the movie.

I was a bit surprised that I didn't really learn anything new; I was expecting more. The filmmaker was somewhat entertaining, but it seems like there is so much more material he should have covered.

The only difference between a church, cult or gang is what people consider to be illegal behavior.

I will watch this one. Thanks for the heads up.
