First it was an amazing game win or lose. Im glad the Spurs came out on top.

The Spurs played very poorly for the 1st qtr and a half. It took them over 4 minutes to get their first frickin field goal. I had to listen to the 1st qtr on the radio so I didn't get a chance to see Shaq's early fouls and the broadcast didn't show his 3rd on the inbounds play. I guess Shaq complained about the Spurs being floppers after the game. That line is so tired Shaq. Get over it. There was some flopping going on by both teams but I don't think the officials were calling them but they were calling some ticky tack phantom fouls. These are the playoffs. Let em play for crying out loud. I think the refs were trying to set the tone and I dont agree with it.

It looks like this series is going to come down between the everybody except Timmie and Amare. I think both teams are content with Tim and Amare getting theirs and trying to control everybody else. Nash and Amare were killing us on the pick and roll. If we don't defend like we should have then the Spurs could be in trouble. It seemed like the Spurs were retreating towards the basket on skates the whole game. They weren't playing a pressure attacking defense.

Game 2 will come down to adjustments. These teams are pretty evenly matched. I think the Spurs bench and Pop being a better coach will be the difference in this series. Its only one game but I'm still concerned about the quality of your team. The Suns played well and the Spurs hit clutch shot after clutch shot. We got lucky. No doubt about it but the Suns snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Good luck and may the best team win.

I agree 100%

The Spurs will win this series cause of their coach & bench.

I agree with a lot of what you say. the spurs had a horrible offensive first half save TD. TD carried his team on his shoulders for most of the game and in the fourth and beyond tony parker and manu ginobli caught fire which is good news for the spurs. again......when those guys all play well the spurs are pretty much unbeatable and today's game was proof. no matter what the suns did it seemed like the spurs had an answer. as far as the bench....i'd consider them even at this point. the spurs bench is not what it once was in the past. finley hit some big shots and he is known for that.......but he isn't exactly consistent. berry will need to give them a spark at some point. I thought the suns bench was actually the key to their success in the first half. the lead swelled on their watch and it was the difference in the last reg season game in SA a couple of weeks back. this is clearly the best series in the first round. and the suns hate of the spurs is about as bad as I've ever seen from an opposing team or fanbase. and that's saying something because I'm a cowboys fan. I want the suns to be successful...but it's hard for me to cheer for a team that has shaq. I really don't like him.

Game 2 will come down to adjustments.

That's not necessarily true. If Game 2 is identical to Game 1, the Spurs will need another miracle three from Duncan to tie it. That was a great shot by a great player, but I don't think the Suns have to worry about it happening twice in a row.

If duncan stepped out more often he'd hit more. don't be fooled by his FT percentage. this guy is a good jump shooter for a big guy. it's not a fluke when a team draws up a play and they execute it. you don't draw up a play that doesn't work in practice or hasn't worked in the past. and as i said in another post the guy has hit a three's in the past in similiar circumstances.

I think it was smart on Shaq's part to call them floppers. As a Spurs fan you should already know that whinning is an effective tool, it almost assures the Suns more calls in game 2. NBA refs can be manipulated, Shaq just threw the first shot.

it remains to be seen what affect his comments may have on the series. last year amare called the spurs dirty and it really didn't help anything......really it just gave the spurs more reason to play even more of a physical game. the spurs aren't going to change their style and the officiating isn't going to change too much either other than the typical game to game BS. shaq's comments, IMO, are just typical of a person who whines after a loss. he is known for that..........he is more blunt with his comments than most whiners......like TD who will tounge and cheek whine about officiating.

I can see the Suns getting more calls when they get back to Phx. But not in SA.

Adjustments will have to be made. I dont think game 2 will be the same. We'll see a much more emphasis from the Spurs on team D. Manu and Parker both had off an off night shooting until the end of the game when it mattered the most. The Suns don't want a close game. I think the Suns will have to blow us out of or own building to get a win here in San Antonio.

well if anything I think in game 2 when oberto flops inside there will be at least 1 or 2 early no calls and that's big, because a big part of Oberto's job in this series is to flop around and get shaq into foul trouble.

Does Oberto have any other job? Oh yeah, flop around and try to get Amare into foul trouble too.

that's not true. I thought the calls were pretty equal IMO. the refs had mistakes, no calls, ect. thruout the game against both teams. I saw shaq clobber manu late in the fourth which went uncalled for example.....just one of many missed calls on both sides. this is a close series and people who blame refs will be the ones that lose the games........period end of story.

But I dont think it will help. The Spurs did some flops but the refs saw through them and made good non calls. Duncan did have some BS calls on him though tonight and Shaq wining about getting a foul for extending his arm into the neck of Kurt Thomas was ridiculous.

and that's the way it should be. shaq outweighs him by over 100 pounds....he can't guard him. shaq has to play with more discipline and realize that if he just plays straight up without heavy contact he will win that matchup. shaq has made a living beating guys up with extra contact so I don't sympathize with him whining about being on the wrong end of a foul call. if anything he gets away with more contact than anyone else.

Are you talking about the play where Ginobili tried to jump through Shaq & Shaq cleanly blocked the ball before the body contact occured (which was caused by Ginobili anyways).
