My trade deadline theory-Josh McCown to Ravens for Jamal Lewis

Sounds nuts, but Baltimore is in chaos right now, has nothing at quarterback, and both McCown and Lewis are unrestricted free agents at the end of the year. Plus, Baltimore has a promising youngster named Chester Taylor waiting in the wings.

As bad as our offensive line has been, I think some of the blame has to go on the runningbacks. There were at least 3 times on Sunday that Shipp could have turned back inside and gotten big yardage, but he was to slow to cut back and got dumped.

Jamal Lewis is only 26 years old. I've got a feeling that Denny wants him bad, realizes that Lewis is a guy who will look elsewhere in free agency, takes a gamble to get Lewis in early, wines and dines him the last 12 weeks of the season and hopes Lewis likes it here and agrees to a longterm deal.

I know, stupid idea. But Lewis would look really cool in Cardinal red.

Just don't see the Bidwill's trading for a guy who just got out of prison on drug charges.

Ricky Williams would be a stretch, but a guy who helped a friend arrange a huge drug deal, not a chance.

I wanted Lewis out of college but with his legal problems I'd be surprised if we were interested. That said, it still amazes me we looked at Travis Henry and we did.

On New American Sporstman Sunday green was reeling in another bluefish and said "crap another bluefish, I was hoping it was Jamal Lewis."



pretty sure when green was on ESPN he was really outspoken about what a great RB he thought Jamal was so that's probably where Holian got that idea.
