Could he be any worse out there than Batiste is? I realize he's not ready to be starting at the NFL level but neither is Batiste. It's not like Batiste is solid veteran that is just going through a bad streak. He's been around about 10 years and has never been worthy of a start. Potter has the feet to play LT but lack of strength was his main question mark. I know Whiz is reluctant to play any rookies early and it may actually kill him if he 2 rookie tackles starting for him, but they probably need to look at Potter and see what can do. Like I said, can he really be any worse?

I am getting to this point as well, but I think you have to wait until after the bye week. You can't throw a rookie to face Minnesota on the road, San Fran at home annd then Green Bay on the road.

Don't ruin Harry's brother- If he has some magic- You could kill his future putting him in unprepared. One fans opinion.

Are you kidding? Im all for Starting Senio Kelemente at T (he played T in college)

It literally cant be worse.

Yes Potter. Yes Kelemente. Yes whoever else we got. Whats there to lose?

nothing. do it.

In fact, what we should do is go pull 4 FA's off the couch and start them. Guaran-friggin-Tee theyll be better than this line. I cant believe we havent made personell changes yet.

Actually I can believe it.

Good point.

But Potter has to see time eventually THIS SEASON.

D'Anthony Batiste
Levi Brown
Bobby Massie

The only reason Potter is on the team right now is because of the serious hole the Cardinals have at the position, and the injuries they have had as well.

Normally the Cardinals have 8 offensive linemen on the 53 man roster. That means the Cardinals normally have 3 tackles.

If the Cardinals do not bring in an OT in free agency, or draft an OT. Then they are the dumbest organization in sports today. Right now, this team could be a contender for the Superbowl, but the OT position more than anything is holding this team back. We are talking undefeated right now, and being a force in the NFL. Yet, the Cardinals played it cheap, and stubborn this offseason with the offensive line and have gotten what they deserve for their negligence.

Put being, at least one OT will be brought in next offseason.

D'Anthony Batiste
Bobby Massie
Levi Brown
Nate Potter
[offseason acquisition]

We get to keep 3 out of the 5, and Levi Brown, and the newly acquired OT would be locks, leaving Massie, Potter, and Batiste to fight it out.

Who you think they are going to keep ?

Not Potter. Thus he better play this year, or he may never as a Cardinal.

I'd like to see Kelemente at G and Colledge slide to LT temporarily.

Seriously....it cannot get any worse than it is right now.

I think Potter will be our LTOF, buuuut...he needs another year in the strength training program before he'll be ready.
Yeah, that's how I see it.

One contrast between Buffalo's young OL and ours was that their guys were strong enough and tenacious enough to battle our guys in the trenches til the final whistle. By comparison, our OL guys put forth the effort, but got pushed around a lot and usually caved in before the play was over.

I don't think it was an effort or even a leverage/technique thing so much as it was a strength and balance issue.

Wait, a seventh round pick is the LT of the future?

UGh. And don't tell me how good he looked in the preseason.

The present is the worst ever.

Whats there to fear?

Also, on MNF last night, they discussed how the chargers current LT is an UDFA rookie. Harris his name was. Yeah, he gave up a sack or two. But at least it wasnt 5-6. Dont worry about draft rounds.

I worry that he was passed over several times and can't start on this garbage OL. Meet the new LT same as the old LT.

are you talking about Potter or Massie being passed over?

Either way, who cares? Massie cant start on this garbage Oline either. Maybe Potter will be crap just like Massie, but at least we're making an attempt to mix it up.

I hate that this is the worst Oline in history, and we have yet to make a single adjustment.

What's odd about Potter is the coaches hardly played him at all during the pre-season, so he didn't even benefit from a possible 5 games of experience. I thought the coaches were hiding him, so they could sneak him past waivers. Instead they keep him and waived D.J. Young (thus negating all the playing time they gave him on the pre-season---although he seemed to prove he wasn't roster and/or PS worthy---but at the expense of sitting Potter, just weird).

We have no clue at this point what Potter brings to the table, except some good college tapes and few snaps at the end of a couple pre-season games.

Very odd for a draft pick who wasn't hurt.

That's a lot of O-lines.

Name the second worst?

I have a feeling the Cards won't make any adjustments this off season either other than to maybe bring in a replacement for Snyder. They'll be content with Levi Brown, Colledge, Sendlein, and Massie.

With enough money they could have Jake Long, Brian Waters, Todd McClure, Ryan Lilja and Levi Brown as according to kffl the first 4 are 2013 free agents.

I understand your point but can you name one you think is worse? I can't. I keep going back to that Tampa Bay team but they were so bad in so many areas that it's hard to really remember their offensive line. Regardless, our o line unit is scary bad.

He will have to do a heck of a lot of earn a spot next year, IMO. The numbers don't add up to his favor.

Great post, Mitch. I was thinking the same thing. He hardly got in with the 3's. My only thought is we thought we had Bridges for most of the preseason, until the end when he got hurt. So I think he was going to be a practice squad "sneak through" until we had no other options.

Not trying to be a smart guy, but what did you see that makes you think that? Strength and conditioning is great, but it's not the all-end-all.

Do you think that if he yells "Stupify" at the DE he can freeze him in his tracks?

If so, then let the Tackle That Lived play!

Keep in mind he was once thought to be a first round OT talent by scouts before they realized how inexperienced and weak at point of attack he is. There is athletic talent there.
