Whoever said ASU plays a weak non-conference schedule?

In all seriousness, NAU has a good team this year but any serious sportswriter who thinks they're one of the Top 25 teams in the country should be fired for sheer stupidity. But I do hope they get hot from deep again like in 2000 and 1998 and give some #2/3 seed a scare.

You're right - NAU is not a top 25 team - probably some NAU grad giving props to his team

NAU was #15 seed both years - we were so dang close to beating both Cincy and St. Johns - especially St. Johns in 2000 - had our last lead with 13.8 seconds....we could have gone far that year had we beaten them.

I went there from 97-01 so I got to see some good years. I would definatly make the 2hr trip for the tourney though.

Those were the good years - I left Flagstaff in '96, just as Howland was turning the program around. I remember the 2 and 3 win season
