We are 4-7...I like the changes.

The old coaching staffs would keep trotting out the same garbage week after week.

You have to say two things about this coaching staff.

1) They are not afraid to take risks.

2) They adjust the gameplan and fix problems during the game.

I like the direction of the team, but I can't say I like the changes. sure we need to see what we got, but it just seems a weird time.

of course the playoffs were always a pipe dream, but I have to wonder if this will prove anything at this point in time.

Denny started the news conference off with this news, it wasn't a question, it was an announcement.

Then he talked about how he personally had been coaching Navarre on the scout team. He's also talked recently about how he asked Navarre why all these Michigan QB's are so underrated, and brought up Brady.

This is a by-the-book, Denny's ego type move. He thinks that Navarre has invaluable experience playing in front of 100,000 fans, and the media scrutiny that comes with being the QB for the Wolverines.

I like it.

Let us see what John has.

Mcginnis never went about seeing what he has on the bench to evaluate for the nexdt year. i like this a lot.

Also doesnt hurt if we get a high draft spot but this is a weak qb draft no?

That'll sure work wonders convincing the team you know what the hell you're doing!

Next week what will he activate Chris Lewis and start him?

Navarre should be the backup, Josh should get the start until we're mathematically eliminated.

You know I'm beggining to understand Denny and I think right now his I'm a genius, no really I'm a QB genius mentality has taken over.

He has to know the odds Navarre makes a real positive impact on the team are almost nil in his first start.

I mean we were going through training Josh for however long that took and right at the end of the tunnel he bailed on him and now we are supposed to start that process all over?

To me now DG is just auditioning players for next year, he can't seriously believe this gives us the best chance to win, there is no way he really believes that.

No denying it, Green is a LOT different than what we are used to for coaches around here. He's one hell of a risk-taker.

I never would've done this. But, what the hell, let's cross our fingers, hit our knees, and pray for a miracle.

He probably saw Bollinger go 5-9 and average 12 yards per completion as the Jets #3 QB in his very first NFL playing time by the way and figured that if the Jets could do it so could the Cards. :D

Speaking of QB play, how was the wind yesterday. Was it having a major effect on the passing. It was really blowing Saturday at the UT game and gave both teams fits.

Well the risks are huge, at some point the players might start thinking you aren't such a genius and that you are in fact and egotistical idiot.

I will say this for him, he likes to spin the wheel and heck next year maybe we should carry 6 QB's.

Maybe we could get an exemption from the NFL because of the entertainment value of this.

This is exactly what needed to be done. Why try and win a few meaningless games with one of those hacks. He was wrong about both of them and admitted it by this action. Lets see what the kid can do. If he can't show anything in 5 games then he's not the answer either. This is a "cold world". It's up or out. I've always hated Mac, or the legion of other coaches we've had staying with "busts" just to pad a bad record. If we lose the next 5 games with him at the helm, so be it. then we'll get a better draft pick. I think Green is doing the right thing and my hats off to him.

The kid played an Michigan and why not put him in on the road against the relitively weak Lions. If he wins and shows some poise he will reveal some hope if not no one expects anything anyway. I like the move. He will bring his A game I just hope his aA game isn't a D in the NFL. Imagine a couple in stride 60 yard TD's. We would all be jumping for joy even if he had a couple picks because we are all so starved for a passing game.

obviously not a cards fan - but i like the move by DG - at least he isn't afraid to take some risks and roll the dice on the players to shake things up. i think in the long run it will pay off for the cards. they are so used to no coaching staffs making bold moves that any move seems reckless.

I predict that Navarre will throw for more than 90 yards and will not thow three picks.

Why? Why not.

I'm flabergasted. However, this is a so called throw away/rebuilding year whether we like it or not. DG needs to know if he has any qb on this team that can run his system effectively. If not then we know what the number one priority is in the off season: QB!

It sure isn't boring being a Cardinal fan with Denny Green as the head coach!

I'm surprised.

I could see the Cards going back to McCown for all or most of the remaining games with Navarre (where appropriate) being brought in late in games and maybe starting the final 2 games of the season.

In a futile attempt to read Dennis' mind - Navarre is similar in size and style to Roethlisberger, and I'll bet Big Ben's success is echo'ing somewhere in Green's unconsciousness.

One thing to expect - You will see a more accurate (and perhaps more decisive) passer who will have less escapability under pressure - a different style of play from either McCown or King. And I expect a more vertical offensive game from Navarre because he's tall and can throw an accurate, deep ball.

Unbelieveable. This is beginning to resemble a circus. I really hope Denny knows what he's doing, because this move appears extremely reckless.

"reckless?!?" why? what's at stake? what has denny got to lose? we're not going to the playoffs this year. our other two qbs suck balls. 3 games is not enough time to evaluate (we saw that with mccown last year), so you don't want to wait too long to throw navarre in. why not see if we have something there? if he sucks too, then we KNOW we have to do something else in the offseason. i love this move.

Kind of like someone else I'm starting to get a feeling might be wearing the redbird helmut next season.
