I wanted Cedric Wilson or Chark. Both are gone.
There is one out there I think we should target.
Marquez Valdez Scantling.
The 49ers are after him.
He’s 6’4” and fast, has averaged over 17 yards a catch and has had td catches of over 70 yards in every year of his career except one. He’s 27 years old.
He’s had the benefit of being on the same field as Devonte Adams and would have the same here with Hopkins.

I can’t find a downside.
You can't find a downside? Dude has been on a team desperate to find a worthy no 2 to Adams with arguably the best QB in the league and he could not get the job done.

That screams to me stay away.

In my opinion we have to draft a wr in round 1 or 2.

I don't believe in getting WR through free agency, look at history, good WR are not allowed to leave in FA. The ones that do usually severly underperform the contract given to them.

In the draft? With Keim drafting? Maybe we should start a thread with everyone giving their choice for a WR in the draft. Then have someone summarize it and send our draft pick to Keim. (we'll get him drunk first)

For the record, Wesley might be a steal if you have some patience with him. To benefit us at the moment, he was under Kingsbury and knows the offense's foundation. Was hurt early on, but limited chances has shown he can make the difficult catch. I am not saying he's some kind of Pro Bowler, but geez to have him as depth in the wings is a charm

After finally upgrading our defense to near-respectability, we’re asked to tear it down so we can add another quality WR.

There are more talented WR’s than there are quality safeties. & I love Metcalf and Jeudy.

But I think swapping out a Pro Bowl S for a quality WR is a high-risk proposition that could set us back more than 5 years.

if we're going to trade for metcalf or Jeudy I would prefer we offer someone like Simmons and not Budda.

There is an argument for trading Budda just because the way he plays he's likely to get injured, but he's a very good player and he's the heart of our defense I think trading him could be a very bad move in the chemistry of the team.

Seattle is clearly not trading Metcalf to a division opponent so you're really talking Jeudy in that scenario

Why would denver trade juedy?

they have Wilson, they are not going to get rid of their weapons now,

I agree but there's still some talk that Denver thinks they are going to have too much money tied up at WR since they already extended 2 of their other WR's. I agree though keeping Jeudy makes sense now that they have a QB that can get him the ball.

I've read that this cat could be a super stud with some coaching and experience and should be available a bit later in the draft: Erik Ezukanma WR Texas Tech, a rare receiver with incredibly dynamic potential. He's 6'3″, 220 pounds, with elite length and contact balance, great explosiveness.

AJ Green is under contract, right? Maybe I'm just weird, but this offense was clicking with him early on, and I'd like to see him return. Another year in the scheme and maybe he turns around and makes a play instead of getting confused thinking he was run blocking. Mix that with a 1st or 2nd round WR drafted that's over 6 feet tall and will be his understudy, and I think that's the best bet going into the season. That's what I'd do anyway.

Okay, we’ll as reported the Chiefs and 5 other teams are after him. He must really suck for a team like the Chiefs to want him.
See if you’re in the “ I want Green back “ camp then I can stop typing.

However I’m looking at a fast , big, younger player that has big play potential AND is affordable.
The packers are strapped with Rodgers and Adams salary. They can’t keep everyone and it’s reported THEY would like him to return.

As a number 4 guy maybe, but he is not going to be a number 2 guy, and that is what we need.

i hate green, he is the last guy I want as our number 2.

Chopper, why do you call this guy trash? No drops, fast as hell, he’s a big target, averaged over 17 yards a catch and is a big play guy.
It’s a pipe dream anyway, I know, but at 27 years old he could be here for the next 4 years.
What’s not to like?
"lol You all touting MVS who never topped 39 catches or 700 yards with Aaron Freaking Rodgers as his QB and no real competition. Come on. (side note, DJ Chark put up over 700 yards with Gardner Minshew as his QB in his 2nd most productive year)"

From another thread regarding MVS. He is not good and we are not a better situation for him.

Personally, I would stay away from FA WR’s right now. It’s a solid draft for them, so go that route. Either in the 1st or 2nd round.

#1, it has not worked well for us, to say the least.
#2, we have a lot--a LOT--of holes to plug, and not enough picks to do it.
#3, we shouldn't back ourselves into a corner of being forced to pick purely out of need.
#4, yeah, it's a shabby FA group right now, so we are in a bind.
