The most amazing part of this is that this guy has quite a bit more to show of his game. He has successfully returned kick offs in college and likely will do more of that. He has more power than he's shown. When I said you'd like him on draft day many said he wasn't an inside runner or was just a receiver. I knew once he got coached up he would be something special. He's got a real chance to be a big time weapon.

this makes me happy

on a side note:

I get Northern Iowa raises questions on the level of competition-- but:

1. Size? Check+
2. Speed? Check+
3. Unique skill? (i.e. outstanding receiver) Check+
4. Productive overall? Check
5. Productive against Div 1 opponents? Check+
6. Health? Check
7. Character? Check

How did he last until the third round? 1-7 were all known and documented at draft time.

1. Its in vogue now NOT to take RB's early.
2. There were other good RB's in the draft.
3. We really don't know if he is that good yet.

Massie is the better of the two at RT. Maybe BASK wants to punish Massie. That could happen, but I don't think it will. I believe Massie will get his job back because he is the better player.

This staff has proven with OL play that if it is working, they do not change it. If Watford holds up well again, it is his job unless he loses it himself.

Besides, we only have one sample but in that sample Watford played great and there is no reason to bench him.

DJ should retire now. He might go down in nfl history with the highest average yd gain, and the only one to score a TD every time he touched the ball. He would live on forever in bar question history.

Big Earl looked good today. Didn't notice him giving up much pressure

He's soooo good. Looks effortless out there. A guy that big shouldn't be that fast.

DJ: The next OJ Anderson. His size and running style is going to make a bunch of people take bad angles -- he covers far more ground than it looks.

I would make DJ the starter now. He is clearly our best back. Use CJ as his backup. I love him as our kick returner as well. 108-yard TD WOW! He is already my favorite pick from the draft.

Just saying what most Cardinals fans are thinking... David Johnson could be special.

CJ didn't do too bad. He got some tough yards between the tackles.
Yes he did and ran hard all day. They complement each other and I'm not sure DJ is ready to be the all down back yet. He still needs to learn the playbook and get used to taking a beating in the NFL

As much as I'm excited about DJ, he hasn't had a game when it's all been on his shoulders.

Ellington would have had a field day against that bears D today. Going to be hard for Ds to account for both of them.

That's true. And it's possible the coaches still think that CJ is going to produce more YPC than DJ week in and week out.

But man, DJ sure looks like he has a little more burst than CJ...

I have to admit, I give the rookie the start next week if AE isn't healthy enough to go.

DJ reminds me of AE's rookie year, when he wasn't the all down back. I don't think DJ needs to be a starter year. CJ played great and DJ was a great compliment back. I think it should stay that way until AE gets back.

he's still a rook and missed A LOT of training camp. Considering keeping Palmer upright is the most important thing for this team, I want him getting to know the playbook/blocking assignments better before starting him.

but he's definitely the future. a very, very bright future.

His speed for that size is nuts. It does take him a while to get up to that speed though.

And I still think he goes down way too easy between the tackles.

Give him time. I am happy with being patient.
