LORD. I lift this family to you...

I TRUST in your power to heal and I know that you love them very much. Please strengthen their hearts as they deal with this and surround them with people filled with compassion.

Mark :)

Guys are scaring me. I've had all sorts of issues with my gastrointestinal tract and almost everything I've seen points back to acute pancreaitis .. Only 31 going on 32 ...

Prayers to your families.

There are two main reasons for pancreatitis. Heavy alcohol use (70% of cases in the US are due to drinking 5 or more drinks a day for more than 5 years) or gallstones. I wish you the best in getting it figured out.

Tuesday Night. I just got home from the hospital and needed to take a second to thank all of AFSN again. I'm thanking everyone personally on my facebook page ( Alan Konrath).

Dan has taken a cople of baby steps in the right direction. They took him off what I call the "refridgeration machine" which is used to cool him down. He had been off it and his temp went back up to 102...but that's better than 103.5. Doctors are searching for the reason for the temp. When they find the cause it will be a HUGE step forward. He is still under sedation and life support. His lung x-rays are a little better.
The good news is his vitals are stable as are all organs.

I can't imagine watching a Cardinal game without him. Please Dear Jesus, let him live.

Absolutely praying for you and your son. We just never expect our kids to go before us and it a brutal gut punch when faced with that possibility. Hang in there and just focus on one day at a time.

Thanks everyone. Most people go thru 4 to 5 days of recovery. Less than 5% of people get it as bad as my son has it. I just want to hear the words, " Your son is going to live."

I, (We) will get thru what they say could be months of rehab.

Bless you guys. I will try to post daily on his condition.

Every ounce of positive energy that I can muster sent in your direction. I am the age of your son and have a nine year old. Can't imagine. Do you mind if we share the link for gofundme? Bless You, your son, family and all who are going through this with you!!!

You can absolutely shate the link. There are people that have donated that I don't even know. This event has changed me forever. I will NEVER pass on any opportunity to help someone in need. I'll never be able to pay it all back but I will never stop trying.

Wednesday. Not much progress made but no setbacks. All vital signs are good but doctors are still miffed at what is causing the fever. They did find an infection in his bowels but they don't believe that is the cause. This is one time I hope their wrong.

Even if they figure out to be viral they can consider taking him off the ventilator. He's not strong enough yet but even if he was they need to find the cause of infection.

Thanks again for all your donations and prayers. Hope you don't get tired of hearing me say thank you, because it's something I need to do.

Thursday update. Doctors still are unable to find the cause of his fever. They removed the cooling blanket around 10 am. this morning and by the time I left his temp was up to 100.8. It's not risinf as fast as it was a few days ago so we are praying that perhaps the doctors are getting closer.

Thank you all for letting me use this format to unload my troubles. I ask for continued prayers.

Friday update. Major hurdle today. They experimented taking him off the resirator ( to our shock) and he was strong enough to maintain breathing on his own with an oxygen mask. They took him off all sedatives and for the first time in 10 days he was able to open his eyes and communicate.

Doctors warned us there are many things that can still turn this whole situation south. He must maintain his vitals and of course continue to the ability to breathe while they start to ween him off the mask. They warned us he could end up back on the respirator should any of the above go backwards. So please , PLEASE continue to pray for him.

I'll close with this. While he was coming out of his sedatives they asked him questions.
What year was it? He responded 1915.
Who was the President? He said Clinton.

About an hour later his wife and I started asking similar questions.

I asked, Who is your favorite football team?
He whispered...I kid you not, Arizona Cardinals!

Guys we are 1 day away from really breaking out of the dark. Tonight is huge. Tomorrow could be a wonderful day or it could be a major setback. I'm sticking with wonderful.
