Friday update. Major hurdle today. They experimented taking him off the resirator ( to our shock) and he was strong enough to maintain breathing on his own with an oxygen mask. They took him off all sedatives and for the first time in 10 days he was able to open his eyes and communicate.
Doctors warned us there are many things that can still turn this whole situation south. He must maintain his vitals and of course continue to the ability to breathe while they start to ween him off the mask. They warned us he could end up back on the respirator should any of the above go backwards. So please , PLEASE continue to pray for him.
I'll close with this. While he was coming out of his sedatives they asked him questions.
What year was it? He responded 1915.
Who was the President? He said Clinton.
About an hour later his wife and I started asking similar questions.
I asked, Who is your favorite football team?
He whispered...I kid you not, Arizona Cardinals!
Guys we are 1 day away from really breaking out of the dark. Tonight is huge. Tomorrow could be a wonderful day or it could be a major setback. I'm sticking with wonderful.
