We have a thread going titled 'Positive Thinking' Believe the intent was to post ways the Cards are going to succeed this coming year.

What's missing is a thread for all those with Negative Thinking. This thread is for those who believe the sky is falling. They need a place to post and not drag down the 'Positive Thinking' thread. Here you go (I'll be at the other thread talking about ways the Cards have improved and will make the playoffs). Let's get all the negative stuff gathered in one place.

There is a thread to the effect of 'Rise up Dark Side' that gets bumped every year when something horrible happens.

Thanks for the info. This thread does not require that something horrible happened. The only requirement here is to rant and whine and be negative. No justification or rational reason required. In fact, a post with even a semblance of rationality would not be a fitting comment.

So, to quote the Jack Nicholson character in 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest,' "Which one of you nuts has got any guts?"

If you have to beg for negativity you're doing it wrong.

Every year we get stuff like this. Never surprises me to see people get all up in arms about others pointing out weaknesses in the team or moves they think aren't the best.

Heck, Cardinal fans are among the most, if not the most, easy going fans in the NFL.

The loss of Los and DWaste is significant. Best case scenario is that Minter plays incredibly well and Foote is 70% of what Los was for us last year.

HB coming off that horrific knee injury very well may not play for us at all this year and if he does he won't be 80% of what he was last year. 2015 I have high hopes for him but not his year.

Old Abe will hit the age wall at some point, I expect it to be the 2nd half of this year. SK didn't draft or sign any true pass rushing demons this year so Bowles will have to scheme even more blitzes etc. to get some pressure on QB's.

Will Cromartie be the player from 2012 or the 2013 aching hip guy? Let's say he plays 2012 well then how much does PP get thrown out and exposed as not being elite?

Carlson is one hit away from retiring because of concussion issues. That leaves some dude and a rookie coming off hernia surgery. Maybe Ballard's knee is fully healed and he plays well.

DD is getting older and slower by the minute.

CP thinks he knows the O better but dude still throws too many picks. I like his forget the past and turn the page and keep on firing away attitude but 4 picks against the Seahawks at the end of the season does scare me.

Who will start on the right side of the Oline? Will anyone step up at the RT position and will Faniaka really be our starting RG? Really?!?!?!?!

This is the basic list of negative that my inner demon mind comes up with.

My true concerns are the ILBer position and OLBer, so basically our entire LBer corps.

Compliments on the extent of your thinking. Those are actually pretty realistic concerns that are facing the Cards going into the season. The negative thinking would be to list the concerns but then simply give up and complain that nothing can be done. So you voiced the negatives but at the same time provided the positive response and solution.

Let's just try and keep it negative on this thread in the future.

Sometimes reality is hard to believe, let's just hope that reality isn't a 5-11 record for the 44th time lol:D

The thing this year Bucky, is what is the reality? We have no proven players at Safety, and an entirely new set of ILBs, everyone on our offensive line except Sendlein is new or in a new position but these are the same coaches who found gold in Abraham and gutted our secondary and with a revamped offensive line finished 10-6.

I just don't know what to think about the team this season.

I'll set the table for negativity.

The Cards have nothing at ILB. They also basically have nothing at Safety. Dockett is getting old and, according to ASFN, wasn't much better at DT than he was at Twitter. Our Defense is toast.

Our offense is predicated on an aging QB who was sacked 41 times last season and is prone to throw interceptions at critical moments. Our #1 RB is too small to carry the load for an entire season. We have a brand new offensive line, a group where continuity is essential.

Our big free agent acquisition is a 30 year old CB. The 43rd player to man that position in the last 5 years. We have 9 tight ends who can block but can't catch and one who can catch but can't block.

We only went 10-6 last season because Houston and Atlanta fell off the map. Otherwise that stretch run of tough teams would have left us, once again, at 5-11. Only 3 wins vs teams with winning records? That sure pumps me up for 2014.

Bleak outlook doesn't begin to describe the Cardinals fortunes for 2014.

It may well play out that way cause everyone of those statements have legit validation:D

1. I think Carson Palmer is pretty average

2. A big part of what made our pass defense so good was the QB pressure put on by John Abraham beating the tackle around the edge. John Abraham is 36 years old and at some point is going break down. It could be this year.

(Rant Alert)When is the last time that we spent a top 2 pick on a pass rusher? 2009? We draft a middle linebacker in the top three rounds every 2 years but when it comes to rushing the passer off the edge we count on late round picks and mid 30 year old free agents.

3. Another big part of last year's defense was the pressure up the middle from Dansby and D Washington, who are both gone. The defense will take a step back.

4. The offensive line will go from putrid to average, possibly better than average, possibly below average. I am hoping for better but experience has taught me that it will probably be average at best. Lyle Sendlein still gets pushed into our backfield multiple plays per game.

5. Housler cannot block or catch. Carlson is injury prone. Niklas is a rookie.

6. Ellington is the only difference maker in the backfield. Dwyer, Taylor seem pretty average.

7. Who is starting at safety at the beginning of the year?

8. Fitz is not getting any younger

You've all heard the positive from me, but let me tell you about the negative. My biggest, (and most negative fear), is that somehow, this season, Duckjake stumbles upon the kool-aide, and being thirsty, takes a huge swig of the stuff.

Somehow, at that point, I can see him becoming the biggest, nastiest, positive spewing, kool-aide drinking, Cardinals Fan in the Nation. The whole board would then become one huge puddle of cool-----and NOTHING could possibly overcome it. Oh man do I fear that moment, and its consequences!!!!! We ARE DOOMED !!!!!

We go undefeated in preseason. We follow that up with 10 straight wins before losing our QB, RB and both starting corners to season ending injury. We again narrowly miss the playoffs and have to settle for a late first round pick which we spend on Phillip Dorsett on the off chance he's Tony's other kid. We cut him over the summer once we discover he's actually a wide receiver. Someone starts a bring back CKW thread.

BA on the three candidates for RT during the recent OTA: "We're going to keep throwing all three guys in there and see who comes out on top," Arians said. "Bobby's done very well, Bradley is inconsistent and Nate is probably the smartest of the three, it's just a matter of physically holding up."

Does that quote belong in the Positive Thread or here in the Negative Thread? Two of the three are not very smart (BA isn't really sure}, doesn't sound like any are physically holding up (or is it just the smart one who can't cut it??
