How will the new stadium affect our kicking game? I would imagine that our first three or four regular season games will be played with the roof closed, and the "light" air will be eliminated, to a degree. So what happens to his kickoffs? Fewer touchbacks?

There is no doubt kicking indoors will be a huge help for Rackers. The ball weill carry better and creat better kick offs which will give us better field position.

Pro Bowlere Rackers could kick a few 60 yard field goals this year.

The Cardinals new stadium is the second highest NFL stadium above sea level only behind Mile High in Denver. I'm sure that will help a tiny tiny bit.

Quite a difference between Invesco Field (Denver) and Cardinals Stadium (Glendale).....I'd venture in excess of 3000', irregardless if Cardinal Stadium is actually the 2nd highest in terms of feet above sea level.

Won't make a hill of beans difference.

Considering the majority of NFL cities are on oceans, lakes, or rivers, which are generally at sea level, this would make sense!!

Yes it does...!!! Just ask any Major league ball player about how the ball travels above sea level. Also ask the Denver kickers; they they will tell ya.

I'm not disputing the fact in Denver , the ball will travel farther......but at 1100 feet (Phoenix) I don't see it as much of an influence.

I think the warmer air influences things in Phoenix more than altitude.

I agree that the altitude at the new stadium won't make much difference. But neither will having the roof open or closed. I don't have the actual stats to back this up, but based on what I saw last year, Rackers was kicking it into the endzone pretty much everywhere they played. The only reason his touchback percentage started dropping (prior to the injury) was that teams realized that we couldn't cover on special teams to save our lives and they started running the ball out from deep in the endzone. If Special Teams coverage improves, I think Rackers will lead the league in touchbacks again.
